This black woman husband was trying to beat on her and she shot a gun in the air to make him leave her alone. She had to go to court because of this, her lawyers said that she was standing her ground. Even though she never shot anybody she was sentenced to 20 years in prison, she also lived in Florida.

George Zimmerman shot and killed an unarmed black kid and he was found not guilty.

There is no way that she should be in jail.

Before making a comment... read the law. She was not entitled to SYG protection. If he'd followed her back to the car and made threats, or he had a gun.... she'd have been OK. If she went to get the gun, to keep just in case.... Maybe. But she left the house, got a gun out of her car, went back in the house, then fired a shot into the wall. If she had the gun with her when she first went into the house and ended up firing a shot... maybe. Sorry but she's wrong. She was safe, she got away from her percieved danger and returned of her own volition. Then she escalated the situation by drawing a gun, and firing a shot. Under the law she's not entitled to SYG status, or self defense status. BTW Zimmerman wasnt entitled to SYG protection either.

Ladybug you are right the Stand Your Ground law didn't apply to George Zimmerman and that's why his lawyers never used it. If they had used the Stand Your Ground law he would have lost this case by a landslide.

Yes she should. You can't just retrieve a gun and fire it. Bullets have to fall somewhere

She was convicted of three counts of aggravated assault

Under Florida’s 10-20-life law, Alexander was sentenced to a mandatory 20 years behind bars because she was convicted of aggravated assault where a firearm was discharged. And she turned down a plea deal of 3 years

I agree, she didn't even hurt nobody. This is absurd to me. We got people out here killing innocent kids, raping women and gangs terrorizing neighborhoods. They worried about this lady who was trying to defend herself.

This is a damn shame they would convict her. I know some folks are going to say she should of took the 3 yrs. Hell I wouldn't of either, In fact; she probably thought they weren't going to convict her.
