Teen accused of killing mother treated at hospital MEMPHIS, TN - (WMC-TV) - The Memphis teenager charged with killing his own mother was supposed to face a judge Monday, but he was not in court. Juvenile court officials say the 14-year-old boy is at Saint Francis Hospital under doctors' care. His detention hearing was postponed but the date for that has not yet been set. The teen is charged with first degree murder, accused of killing his own mother, Gwendolyn Wallace, by setting the house on fire. According to the affidavit of complaint, he told investigators he had been arguing with his mom Thursday night after she "told (him) he could not see his girlfriend for the next two weekends." Police say while his mother was on the second floor of the home, he went to the garage, got a gas can, doused the stairwell in gas, and lit it on fire with a lighter he found in the kitchen. He spilled some gas on the living room floor, which he also lit on fire before walking out of the house. Court officials did not reveal the reason the teen needs medical care, but did tell the judge they expect he will be released from the hospital "in a day or so", at which point sheriff's deputies will take him back to juvenile hall to face arson and murder charges. On the way out, his court-appointed attorney declined comment so that he could go meet with the teen as soon as possible. Law requires a detention hearing within 48 hours of the teen's return. The juvenile's name will not released by Action News 5 unless he is charged as an adult in the crimes. http://www.wmctv.com/story/21912646/teen-accused-of-killing-mother-being-treated-at-hospital |

No indication or mention of that so far. Maybe he's just another spoiled and pissed off youth, like some of those school shooters. |

That's what the courts get for meddling in family affairs. I know there are extreme cases of abuse.......but the way some courts handle issues merely gives a kid a license to do whatever comes to mind. Years ago a Judge allowed a 6 yr old to divorce his parents because he didn't like them and they way they were raising him. I knew then where we were headed and it's here. OMG ! |
