Pennsylvania teen dies after trying to escape grounding by climbing out of her apartment window Jessica Bacon, 14, from King of Prussia, Pa., used shoelaces and electrical cords to create a makeshift rope. When she tried using it to climb out of her apartment window, her plans went horribly wrong. A Pennsylvania teen apparently trying to escape out her window after being grounded, instead plunged eight stories to her death. The 14-year-old was allegedly sent to her room after being disciplined by her foster parents Tuesday night. Upset about her punishment, she fashioned a makeshift rope and climbing out the window, NBC Philadelphia reports. Tragically, the rope failed to hold. The teen was identified as Jessica Bacon by Upper Merion Middle School principal Dr. Karen Geller. Police said Bacon used shoelaces and electrical cords to create her rope, tying it to a heating unit in her bedroom. When she climbed out of her apartment window, the rope broke and the girl fell onto the roof of a garage below. Bacon was taken to the hospital and died later that night. The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night in the Marquis Apartment complex in King of Prussia, Pa. The county coroner has ruled the incident as an accidental death. Montgomery County spokesman Frank Custer told NBC Philadelphia that the foster-care protocols were followed. Grief counselors were available for students at Upper Merion Middle School, where Bacon was a seventh grader. Im guessing if she got her ass whooped instead of a grounding this would have never have happened right? Just being an ass. Anyway though, really all of that to sneak out. This was really moronic. |

Yuck, yuck....It could be said, however that parents aren't always responsible for the acts of children. Stupid acts on the parts of children don't necessarily reflect on parents. There are some very good parents with totally stupid children. |

Most usually blame the parents for their poor parenting.
