I understand, Kenny.

I just did not like that she explicitly explained how she was NOT going to doing something similar in America for fear of some scandal, and sure enough this venture brought forth scandal.

Actually, when I lived in Chicago, I heard he's a great guy from a friend who worked for him.

I thought you'd say he doesn't count because of his complexion.

Oh my dear Tru, how little attention you do pay, to specifics.

I constantly state a clear difference between

A)Honorable & great Lightskinned Blacks -vs- B)lightskinned-racist Blacks

There's a clear, clear and concise difference.

Group A speaks truth to AmeriKKKa's lightskinned-racism dilemma which USA Whitefolk effect. Group B pretends there's no such thing.

Group A refuses to benefit from it's White privilege, so they shun and refuse to accept reward merit nor opportunities from White America, for being lightskinned. It's illegal. They embrace that illegality and stomp it out. Whereas Group B takes full advantage of every lightskinned-racism benefit which Amerikkka extends----- as they all swear it's no such benefit.

Group A features honorable folk like Colin Powell Michaelangela Davis Michelle Alexander Dr. M.E. Dyson....whereas Group B features millions of self-hating fools like Alicia Keyes Swizzle Beatz JayZ Beyonce Obama LLCoolJ NewsOne B.E.T. NegroDumbaz kninnyinbmore Ciss Mal zecharia etc...

Can somebody wake up that tardy azz member, Affinity?

...she keeps trying to blur the lines of racism, by referencing urban prep, while failing to comprehend that she can't make "Black Progress" exist for the reasons, she claims...gotta accept truth of the matter re Urban Prep.

Nope you got it right. It's the curriculum. if you read anything about that school you'll see the focus from the staff and alumni from the day the kids enter the school is getting them college ready and into college. In most public schools the goal is simply graduation.
I don't how I missed this thread until now. I've been an advocate of this school since it's first graduating class.

The "curriculum" is high expectation and hard work. A lot of hard work. High expectations result in high achievement.

From my understanding based on the links below:

- this is a PUBLIC charter school, not a private school
- in a poor neighborhood in which less than 40% of African American males graduate from high school,
- students are enrolled via lottery, the school is NOT cherry-picking the top students
- 85% of its students come from low-income families
- Their school year is about 1,700 hours compared to 1,000 for the typical school so they get the equivalent of 7 years of instruction in 4 years of high school.
- put 100% of its seniors into college

What we need to learn here is how this schools gets these students to "buy in" and work hard.

There is no doubt that public schools are failing our students, but this school indicates that our students are, in a large part, FAILING THEMSELVES!

100% of the students here go on to college, but over 60% of the students at the school down the road don't even graduate? This implies that ALL students, with hard work, can achieve success.
