If this is indeed a proven formula for success, then it must be duplicated.

This is something Mr. Johnson (BET) should be looking into.
As a former educator I can tell you it's not that simple because of politics. This school is a non profit organization that relies heavily on donations. Public schools rely on state and federal aid and are therefore beholden to state and federal guidelines. This school is focused on getting kids into college, most public schools are focused on making sure the standardized test scores are kept up and who to blame if they aren't. This class was 167 students. My graduating class was over 300. It's virtually impossible to duplicate that school's results in schools who have double the students.

No disrespect but...

You're tardy, sam.

This school's accomplishment has been done for the past 4 years, in a row, every Black male student graduates every Black male student gets accepted into a 4-yr university. Yep. Four straight years. Maybe even more than that.

Nobody cares. Nobody wants to feature them. Because it's a school full of negros who took EXTRA PRIDE in being Black no matter if they were lightskinned or darkskinned-----you can't attend that school nor achieve that result, unless you love being Black.

We wrote to Obama about this school, back into 2009, when he attacked Black men on Fathers' Day...we wrote asking him why doesn't he acknowledge Dads like the one's who have sons @ Urban Prep? Why are those young fruits and the trees they fell from, not being discussed?

You know what it is sam.

DISCLAIMER: take note take heed, of the very very overt sign of who the self-hating Blacks are. Just notice that they will be the one's who'll post in here with very, very little to say outside of any "politically correct" swipes which do feature and do validate how they have no Equitable nor emotional nor psychological nor compassionate attachment to this topic, whatsoever.
I don't have much to say......other than

YAY!

Uh huh, oh yeah, uh huh.

Kenny,

My class had 48 students, including me.

I swear I didn't study 'til the 11th grade. I made all A's and B's.

That says a lot. Class size matters. Small towns lack in some areas, but then make it up in other areas.

Who is uplifting the black males?

The people at the school, then that would be part of the curriculum right? Or maybe curriculum wasnt the right word, but they should model the learning mode they are employing.

Does that work better for you?
Nope you got it right. It's the curriculum. if you read anything about that school you'll see the focus from the staff and alumni from the day the kids enter the school is getting them college ready and into college. In most public schools the goal is simply graduation.
It's also Culture, people. The school has created it's own Culture.

And you know what, I don't care if its success one by one, its a damned good start.

By contrast, isn't Chicago closing a bunch of schools?

That's kind of my point. That school had a graduate class of 167. I can't think of one class I had in high school that didn't have at least 25-30 students in it. There's no way a normal public school could duplicate what that school has done. Class size indeed does matter
