A better question would be: when was he ever considered a leader outside of the NOI? |

He organized the million man march and over a million black men went, what other black leader could do something like that? |

Why do blacks need a leader? We are not monolithic and do not share the same interests. So there is no one person who can represent all black people. Rev. Al Sharpton has done a great job protesting police profiling and other injustices and he has filled a role for blacks who cannot speak for themselves. So I can see why some uninformed blacks may feel they need a leader. |

They say he was, but integration destroyed black businesses. Black businesses still have not recovered and that is the reason our unemployment rate is twice that of whites. |

And he completely failed in his bid to become a big time leader in the community. He actually wasted time talking about the "evil" symbols on the dollar bill during the march. One could argue that was the last great highlight of his career. But like a Janet Jackson song, what have you done for me lately? Edited by Doctor Magnus Warlock, Apr 5 2013, 10:52 AM.

You are talking about a completely different era. We have evolved so much since then. If you want, I can drop you off in the past if you like. I am a time traveler. |

Black people as a whole have never seen Farrakhan as a leader. Malcolm X had far more widespread charisma and leadership skills. Why do you think Farrakhan is still sitting in the background? He has a cult base and that's it. Outside of that nobody gives a shit what he's light ass is doing. About 90% of White people I ask about Farrakhan have no clue who he is. Farrakhan claims he's the blight on White America yet the vast majority of White Americans have no clue what he looks like or what he does which means Farrakhan Fucking Fails. |
