Rob Nabors will become assistant to the president and deputy White House chief of staff for policy. He is currently director of Legislative Affairs. He has also served as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget and Senior Advisor to Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He was one of the Presidents main deal makers during the fiscal cliff talks. He is just 41.
Danielle Gray formally was the deputy director of the White House National Economic Council. She helped get two women confirmed on the Supreme Court. She was one of the lawyers who worked to have Obamacare upheld. She’s recently been promoted to Cabinet Secretary, where she’ll essentially weigh each cabinet secretary’s priorities with those of the president. As an economic expert, she’ll see all through the lens of how policy affects people’s pocketbooks, continuing to push a healthy economy through all her work. Shes still only 34.

by Rob Redding....

President Obama has given two blacks bigger titles within his administration, following criticism from the press about appointing blacks to key positions.

Rob Nabors and Danielle Gray will become more visible, according to a news release.

Danielle Gray will become assistant to the president and Cabinet secretary. She was deputy director of the White House National Economic Council.

Rob Nabors will become assistant to the president and deputy White House chief of staff for policy. He is currently director of Legislative Affairs. He has also served as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget and Senior Advisor to Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Many listeners and readers of Redding News Review were shocked to learn just how white the White House has become under Obama. There was only one black, Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett made available for a recent photo shoot for key officials in the president’s campaign and administration.

The announcement also comes as Obama just made permanent B. Todd Jones, who is black, as head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The appointment is a non-cabinet level job.

Obama is still far behind other administrations in cabinet diversity. Obama 4; Clinton 9 (in 8 years); Bush 6 (in 8 years).

Still, Obama has said that his cabinet is diverse.

“So if you think about my first four years, the person who probably had the most influence on my foreign policy was a woman. The people who were in charge of moving forward my most important domestic initiative, health care, were women. The person in charge of our homeland security was a woman. My two appointments to the Supreme Court were women, and 50 percent of my White House staff were women. So I think people should expect that that record will be built upon during the next four years.

The only person who is not white in the above quote is Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Sonia Maria Sotomayor.

NAACP chair Benjamin Todd Jealous this week said he hopes the president puts a black woman on the Supreme Court.

Rep. Charlie Rangel recently said there is “no excuse” for the lack of diversity in Obama’s recent choices and called the selections “embarrassing as hell.”

The Congressional Black Caucus has even gone as far as suggesting some of its members as possible cabinet level candidates.

Its great to see such young African Americans who have studied hard, worked to develop solid careers and have managed to reach the top at such an early age. It is important that we see more people like that in high profile roles, there are too many young black kids who still find it hard to dream big.

Well, I think it's a shame he had to be pressured to do it.

If he's given the opportunity, I do hope he appoints a black woman to the Supreme Court. I'd be happy even with another black man, but would prefer a black woman.

The little short lady is supposed to retire in a couple of years. Obama will still be in office.
