There is a big difference between having kids and being a good parent. We are not putting the two together. Building stable families would help to cut black poverty and instability. |

Are you trying to Misrepresent my views on purpose or maybe you made a mistake... Please, do me a favor and quote where I said what you said I said in another thread... Take a look at the WHOLE quote that you quoted me on this thread... In your haste to come up with a "gotcha" moment, you ignored where I wrote and I quote myself "The problem is what kind of assistance is NEEDED or NOT needed that will help change the plight of blacks.. In my opinion that's the true problem.." I've been pretty consistent in my belief that a great part of the problems brought up by this forum are the root causes of SECTION 8, WELFARE, CHILD SUPPORT interference/in the guise of assistance are what's crushing a portion of the black people... Which causes black people to act against their better interest...fight their own progress.. and so forth.. But I ALSO mentioned that UNEMPLOYMENT, is a big cause of it too, as it steers people to towards a lifestyle of making money/surviving/getting ahead that the govt deems illegal.. Obama had a jobs tour where he toured midwest and rural areas, while never even bothering to come to inner city neighborhoods.. This is your President's character... TRYING HIS BEST NOT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH DOING ANYTHING TO BE SEEN AS HELPING POOR BLACKS.. The govt needs to tackle the issue of severe lack of Jobs in certain neighborhoods.. Detroit is a prime example of this.. It used to be a bastion for jobs and opportunities, but with a lot of the manufacturing jobs going overseas, it left a legacy of crime, joblessness, hopelessness in it's wake... |

So you're saying just because a welfare check is out there, it forces black women to have out of wedlock children just to get it? Are we really that weak as a people? |

I think the problem is fucking with no accountability or responsibility. That's how you have all these children that make you end up.with Welfare, Section 8 and Child Support. |

Why are you playing games for?? I'm saying that you have a certain "segment" of the population.. The ONES YOU (INCLUDING YOU SPECIFICALLY) deem as the problem, are not doing things in ways that's beneficial to them... I didnt say that "We" blacks are weak.. You are reaching... This is your quote "Nothing is the reality. There are lots of black kids thriving. Graduating at the top of their HS classes. Going to college, graduating. They don't get the press but they're out there. Those living the thug life can't be helped" Those living the Thug Life as you deem, those breeding those future thugs all have something in common.. They live in poverty and try to get money, improve their lifestyles by doing things that are to their detriment.. I'll quote myself Welfare, Section 8 and Child support keeps people that cant financially take care of their kids breeding, as opposed to making sure they orient their lives to making sure they couple with someone to be in a better position to have families instead of breeding... i.e. that segment is not weak.. they just need to be shown to do things differently.. Does not equate to "ALL" blacks or "WE" blacks... Just that "segment" I spoke about... |

I'm just asking a question based on what you posted. You're insinuating that "those who are on welfare" are only on it because it's available. Which would also mean you believe if those programs weren't there they would take a different path because there would be no gold at the end of the rainbow so to speak. You can feel free to correct me if I have that wrong, but you seem to sound like some of the Republicans on this board who blame the programs and not the person. As far as your comment "that they need to be shown something different" , who doesn't know the path to a good life starts with taking education seriously and not making children until you can support them? In my estimation these people forge their own paths with their own decisions made of their own free will Edited by kennyinbmore, Feb 6 2013, 12:46 PM.

"I think the problem is fucking with no accountability or responsibility" This is one of the major reason so many of us blacks are unable to reach our potential. Kids born to parents that are not mentally nor financially capable/prepared to support a child. This child is born at a disadvantage to succeed in a competitive world. |
