I know that presently I want to see "Claudine" with Diahann Carrol
and James Earl Jones (1974).

I heard it deals with Family strain with her already six children, Welfare
backlash, working for some lady as a maid and paid illegally under the table,
Personal humiliation, and falling in love with "roop" played by James Earl Jones.

I've heard of this picture back-n-the-day, but never saw it. I'm going to
purchase it from Amazon for $7.97; shipping included. Can't be that and
and it to my Archive.
I remember enjoying that movie.

Coffy and Foxy Brown.

What I like about those movies besides Pam's marvelous performance, is that they teach a lot about how political corruption works.
Yeah, I liked seein Pam's big tits. And that was at a drive-in BITD.
Pam Grier circa 1974.......untouchable. Sexxxy beyond belief. No current actress could compete. The total package.
Bootyheads always miss the point of the movie. :D

I saw it once and didn't like it. So I don't want it in my collection.

The family was a strain on Claudine because she taught her children nothing to make them independent and raise their awareness. It's the reason that raising children is a strain on every parent. You're not supposed to do nothing and wait for children to grow old enough to control themselves. The mother is supposed to teach her children independence and self control when they're babies.

And then her older son beat up Roop for leaving his mother which was ridiculous because he didn't owe her shit. They weren't married, and he wasn't their father. He cared about Claudine, but he found it difficult to assimilate into her circumstances, which is understandable.

Now she already had six kids running amok in the house when she met Roop, and already she was ready to leap in bed in Roop which could have led to a 7th child. She had no kind of awareness or sense of leadership. She was childish in the mind herself.

And Roop found that hard to deal with because for him to be with her meant for all of that weight landing on him as his responsibility to organize, which also was ridiculous because it wasn't his situation but hers.

Roop had a drinking problem so he had his own strains to deal with.
