There has never been anything remotely resembling "individual freedom" since the dawn of mankind. Being upset at someone because you feel they have taken it from you is pointless and stupid since we've never actually had it to begin with.

When one is brainwashed they "believe" they have individual freedom. Example. Android's and iPhone's. You are forced to choose either one though you've been brainwashed into believing the choice you made was your own even after being bombarded with commercials and advertisements. You have individual rights as long as you choose what they want you to choose which negates actual freedom.
I'm a U.S. zombie? ;)

I hear you, though.

I side with the employer on this one. If you work in the medical field, then you have to get the required shots in order to comply with infection
control.
Eh.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, as a consumer, "protect me" get the shot. On the other, as an employee, "screw you", the shot should be voluntary.

They can't force healthcare workers to eat healthy, take vitamins, practice safe sex. Isn't this the same?

We have allowed this to happen to ourselves truthie. Heck, look at some of the dialogue around here. Some folks want people banned or locked up for exercising free speech rights. It's a theme running throughout the country.

In fact I rememeber starting threads on the bill of rights. Perhaps I should follow through since I don't think I went through all of 'em.

Here, here! ^_^
But Jefferson was mistaken. :)

Excellent statement.

That's the other way around.

When one is brainwashed they "believe" they have no individual freedom and never had it to begin with.

But if you believe that, then you don't want to be free, and your freedom means nothing to you, and nobody has to take it from you because you voluntarily give it away.

So your freedom can never be taken from you unless you choose to live as a slave. Even if a child is raised as a slave, that child is still FREE to decide to live free.

It is not the people who know they're free that are brainwashed. :)

It's the pompous slave who ruins life. Because it's the pompous slave who empowers and polices the forces of darkness. It's the pompous slave who walks around in freedom preaching that they have no freedom, and anybody who believe they're free is brainwashed.

The states love those pompous slaves.

It's as Hitler once said:

"How fortunate for leaders that men do not think."

But this.is. more so for the safety of the patients you come in contact with in a healthcare setting.

Like the flu is spreading through contact. And you can spread it to patients.

At least I know this is why its done at the hospitals I work with.

That's why as a patient, I want to be protected.

But as an employee, I'd be upset. And the fact is that we don't know how effective flu shots will be in any given year.

Right.

But I don't think its the same as forcing one to eat healthy and practice safe sex.

I could be wrong *shrugs*.
