CINCINNATI — One of Cincinnati’s largest employers fired approximately 150 employees Wednesday for failing to get a required flu shot. TRIHEALTH: WORKERS HAVE UNTIL DEC. 3 TO GET FLU SHOT Nearly a week after 150 employees were reported to have been let go, TriHealth clarifies a dust-up over mandatory flu shots. TriHealth offered all of its 10,800 employees free flu shots. Employees had a month to get the flu shot. The deadline was Nov. 16. Employees who did not get the shot were terminated Wednesday, a company spokesperson said. Employees who were terminated can appeal to be reinstated after receiving the shot. UPDATE: TriHealth: Workers have until Dec. 3 to get flu shot. http://www.wlwt.com/news/local-news/cincinnati/TriHealth-fires-150-employees-for-not-getting-flu-shots/-/13549970/17523386/-/3khe3s/-/index.html |

We have allowed this to happen to ourselves truthie. Heck, look at some of the dialogue around here. Some folks want people banned or locked up for exercising free speech rights. It's a theme running throughout the country. In fact I rememeber starting threads on the bill of rights. Perhaps I should follow through since I don't think I went through all of 'em. |

I side with the employer on this one. If you work in the medical field, then you have to get the required shots in order to comply with infection control. |

A a healthcare setting, I kind of have mixed feelings about this. I dont like mandatory rules that are just sprung on people. But you work in a healthcare position where you could possibly spread it to others already at risk. Now, if your job tells you to do something, why wouldnt you do it? And if you are so opposed to the flu shot, why not present your claim for not wanting it. It reminds me of people who complain about certain aspects of their job, but still continue to work there. Or perhaps I am just being insensitive. |

There has never been anything remotely resembling "individual freedom" since the dawn of mankind. Being upset at someone because you feel they have taken it from you is pointless and stupid since we've never actually had it to begin with. When one is brainwashed they "believe" they have individual freedom. Example. Android's and iPhone's. You are forced to choose either one though you've been brainwashed into believing the choice you made was your own even after being bombarded with commercials and advertisements. You have individual rights as long as you choose what they want you to choose which negates actual freedom. |

Not at all SUA, The vaccine is available to them thru their HC provider as you said why not get it? If you're one of those people who get sick even after getting the shot then perhaps that can be used as a reason not to take it next time....but that also opens the door for game playing too.......lose-lose! |
