How much should wealthy people pay to support our government? For example, do you think the top 1% should pay for 25% of the cost to operate our country? Or should the top 10% pay for 50%? What ratio do you think is fair? |

After giving this subject a lot of thought and research, MPOV is get rid of all the loop-holes and tax individuals @ 5%. Corporations @ 10%. Change the rules regarding off-shore earnings and tax the off shore accounts @ 20%. Then we will be even board at least. And maybe some of those suckers getting filthy rich from off shore assets will move the jobs back to America. |

The "Fair Tax", or a national sale tax would solve all of the tax problems, but for some damned reason, the two major parties don't want to deal with it! Of course there are other opinions too! http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/15/business/yourmoney/15view.html |

Wealthy people do not support the government. The wealthy get their currency from the government. Despite the meme we're inundated with, that's not how it operates. The government doesn't need our money. The US government is not fiscally constrained by revenue. It's an effective piece of propaganda used to to diminish true democracy and maintain the social order. |

But a true democracy can never form from the present social order. So the concept of a diminished democracy too, is a piece of effective propaganda to maintain the social order. The mindset of the masses has to change to form a democracy. Edited by cisslybee2012, Nov 25 2012, 06:14 PM.
