When you think the dumb Republicans have changed you always get back to reality that they remain stupid and racist. How can someone think there are no black people in Maine, there are currently thousands of black middle class citizens and voters in Maine but this stupid racist thinks we are all illegal non voters. Earlier this week,Maine Republican party chairman Charlie Webster told a local television station that “In some parts of rural Maine, there were dozens, dozens of black people who came in and voted on Election Day. Everybody has a right to vote, but nobody in town knows anyone who’s black. How did that happen? I don't know. We're going to find out." Webster declined in the interview to identify any of the towns, and he provided no other specifics in interviews with the Portland Press Herald on Wednesday and Thursday. Initially, Webster said he would send thank-you cards to all of the new voters and track whether any were returned with invalid addresses. On Thursday, he said he has no plan to send any cards. Maine’s Democratic Party chairman called the comments “racist,” and the state’s NAACP of Maine called Webster's claim "a racially-motivated attempt to disqualify the (election) results." "What his statements reveal is what voters have known through this past election cycle: that racism is at the heart of the voter suppression movement," said President Rachel Talbot Ross in a prepared statement. "The NAACP will continue to work each and every day on behalf of all Mainers, to protect their right to vote. Toward this end, we will investigate any and all potential violations of the law by Mr. Webster and his party related to his statements this week." |

This is too funny. I know 3 people who live in Maine and I know they voted Democrat. Just another sore loser. When will they learn they can't and won't have their way all the time? "The first shall be last and the last shall be first" |

Just checked a 2011 census report that stated blacks make up 1.3% of Maine's population, virtually all in the more heavily populated areas. I do know that they have a relatively large Somali population as well, but don't know what part of the state that they live in.

I think it's interesting that there were 59 districts in Pennsylvania that received a total of approximately 20,000 votes. Out of ALL of those votes, there was not a single Romney vote. 20,000 went straight Obama. I didn't think that could be possible. |
