Black Americans still back Obama despite steep plunge in their economic fortunes:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/nov/03/obama-african-americans-paradox

A Pew survey in 2010 indicated that the percentage of black Americans who thought blacks were better off than they were five years before had almost doubled since 2007. There were also significant increases in the percentages who believed the standard-of-living gap between whites and blacks was decreasing.

There was only one trouble with these assessments. They weren't true. African Americans, as a group, are far worse off now than they were when Obama came to power and the gap between whites and blacks in terms of wealth and income has increased under Obama's tenure. The overall rate of unemployment may be close to where it was when Obama took office, but black unemployment is up 11%. Meanwhile the wealth gap has doubled during this recession with the average white American now having 22 times more wealth than their black counterparts. So too has the educational achievement gap with the rate at which white Americans graduate from high school growing at a far faster clip than black students.

The ascent of America's first black president has coincided with the one of the steepest descents of the economic fortunes of black Americans since the second world war both in real terms and relative to whites.

I guess you could say that the symbolism of having an AA President overides all this. And where would we be without hope?

There is no Hope. Nope. Not when Black citizens have to watch a Black President spit on his own Black people, for 4 years, as it was the only way he'd be accepted as this nation's leader.

The education and wealth gap run hand in hand. Regardless of whoever is in office be it Romney or Obama.

If you're doing fine, it has everything to do with who is in the White house. Just like the idiots, T.I.M. & Negrodumbas, it is up to you to choose to spit on the facts and the truths and the proofs. Nonetheless, your non-acceptance of the truth does not make the truth, false.

IOW...

For instance, I believe 2+2=57

But my belief has nothing to do with the facts the truths the proofs, which are used to verify that 2+2=4...

I have the conscious choice to do like you all, and irresponsibly say fucc the facts. Yep. I'm going to act like what I feel 2+2 is, be what leads me and be what I push from up out of my mouth.

What the hell are you ranting about? I've done well regardless of who was in the WH be it Dubya or Obama. I'm doing even better with Obama in the WH. But my success had jack shit to do with whoever is in the WH. So stop grasping at straws jackass.

Dude. You're an idiot, since you cant even grasp how...

if Bush rewarded corps. to send jobs overseas and Obama couldn't move the investors/Corp.'s to bring the jobs back nor create more....then of course if Negrodumbas drove a truck in the USA, he'll get paid more and more.

... because there is less competition for him aka
less companies/less products/less drivers, than before the jobs got shipped overseas and Corp.'s quick investing in America. You selfish fucc.

I like this quote from the article:

Moreover much of the criticism Obama has faced from the black community has been either ridiculous or self-defeating. Last year former Princeton professor Cornel West led a well-publicised assault insisting that Obama has "a certain fear of free black men".

"It's understandable," he said. "As a young brother who grows up in a white context, brilliant African father, he's always had to fear being a white man with black skin. All he has known culturally is white. He is just as human as I am, but that is his cultural formation. When he meets an independent black brother, it is frightening ... He has a certain rootlessness, a deracination. It is understandable."

Essentialising Obama's racial and cultural makeup in such a way makes the very mistake that the right makes – assessing Obama not on what he does but by who he is.

I am doing good too, Obama has helped many black people regarding Healthcare, student grants, the Fair pay act, black businesses getting government grants, black farmers getting compensation, black troops out of Iraq. Black people since the Sixties have supported Democrat presidents, even if a white man was standing Black people would still be voting Democrat. The Republicans will never get the black vote as they hold onto racism, bigotry, voter suppression, the tea party and birther agendas.
