Not Barry Manilow though.
I know, I get it. You're thinking Barry Manilow, yawner. Even back in the day, that was the initital thought.
This song however worked so well on the floor. Lyrically, I loved it. And it makes a great song to dance to, especially during it's break. I'd have you enjoying the hustle to it in no time.

"But Rico went a bit too far,
Tony sailed across the bar.
And then the punches flew,
and chairs were smashed in two"
B-)

So I'm at 24 Hr Fitness this evening and their piping in some serious disco. I mean whoever did the music for 'em knew the music. This was somebody who spent time at the clubs as the songs and versions were club style. This is unlike the casual style coming from someone who really doesn't know disco and pops in a few rhino radio edits :D

Anyway, here a 2 songs that stood out for me, Dreaming A Dream by Crown Heights Affair.
The other I posted here from Labelle, What Can I Do For You. This is one of my top 5 disco songs ever.

I had a tough time concentration on the workout as opposed to dancing :D :D

And speaking of Chaka, I can still remember the strobe light hitting the disco ball to this one. :D

And when it comes to disco, we can always count on the Maestro!
Here's My Sweet Summer Suite from Barry White and The Love Unlimited Orchestra.

I know I posted this one before but I really like it. Message In Our Music has become my favorite O'Jays disco song.

Here's Andrea True doing More, More, More. I hear this song sampled frequently.

Classic (redundant, aren't they all :D ) early Philadelphia disco. Featuring the unmistakable vocals of Teddy Pendergrass, The Love I Lost.
