West End Records was a great source of disco music, especially in the later half of the American disco scene. Here's Brenda "BT" Taylor doing one of my favorite club songs, You Can't Have Your Cake And Eat It Too.

So here's another late disco song, Heartbeat. It was a very popular song in the clubs but it wasn't my favorite to dance to. It's pace was a lot slower than some of the other stuff.

You got an ear for the Sweet tracks...

Plus although Taana was mainly a disco singer...I'm pretty sure this was classified as post-disco ('81) and created inline with soul and/or funk foundations and basslines, according to producer Kenton Nix

The '81/'82 years was that period of transition from traditional disco in the states. Depending on who you ask and point of view it's either disco or early 80s funk.
