And speaking of disco, gotta bring up Sugar Pie Guy. More than being one of my favorites songs, it was one of the seminal songs of the 70s. It was disco before there was disco. It along with songs like Shaft moved us out of the 60's sound to the sound of the 70s. Strong with the high hat and a solid funky beat, it help the nail the coffin on that 60s sound.
As a sidenote, these transitions seems to happen every decade with the exception of the last 20 years. Musically, nothing has really changed. I fault the studios, and machines and computers for the lack of creativity.

Anyway, this was still a solid favorite even by the time I hit the discos.
When it was released in the early 70s, it was done as part1 and part2. Later they re-released it as a 12" disco single.

It's 1979. Disco is at it's heights. The artist here, Canadian born France Joli. Here you see her in the popular slit dresses at the time. I really liked those :D
