I'm not well versed in disco but here is my contributions

negrod, I can't tell how often that was played in the discos. I think it was driven by women who couldn't get enough of it. Got tired of it back in the day. Today I can enjoy it.

I think I don't understand what is considered Disco. KC & the Sunshine Band's music? I thought it was just Pop, and that Disco had that beat that went in forever.
I remember K.C. stating on TV that his music is soul.

He considered his material to be soul music.

This one I remeber for 2 things. One of my white friends telling me we are all one nation under a groove. And, there was a dance called "The Rock" and at night couples would be rockin' each other just out in the streets.
.

Now, Psa.... If you're just gonna lump all the good songs into the Disco box, I guess Disco would be the only real music, but....

One Nation Under A Groove is Funk. ^_^

One Nation was a disco song with a funk undertone. In fact it followed that 4/4 disco theme. Tear The Roof Off The Sucka was a funk song occasionally played in the discos.

Do Ya Think I'm Sexy was a disco song with a rock flavor. It think it also falls into that 4/4 thing. B-)

Funk! :D

But seriously, I don't understand the 4/4 thing. I'll have to look that up.
