I find it interesting that you believe in Blacks only being around Blacks yet instill you claim here you are happy that a Republican desegregated schools. You know what desegregation meant don't you? Blacks going to White schools, buying from White businesses, and marrying White women. Do you honestly think Farrakhan and Malcolm X would have approved? |

READ THIS AGAIN! I don't give a damn about what the NYT reported, this is the sequence of events surrounding the desegregation of American Schools. And the fact that you keep hanging on to that report tells me you have an overly serious comprehension problem. The USSC ruled on Brown vs Topeka BofE in 1954 under Dwight Eisenhower. It was then reopened and ruled on again in 1963 when JFK was in office. Nixon was an after thought in terms of the bill being introduced and passed and ruled on by the USSC. Apparently you didn't read the article thoroughly " In March 1970, President Richard M. Nixon decided to take action. He declared Brown to be ''right in both constitutional and human terms'' and expressed his intention to enforce the law. He also put in place a process to carry out the court's mandate. Vice President Spiro T. Agnew and I (then secretary of labor) were asked to lead a cabinet committee to manage the transition to desegregated schools". Which means he only did a follow up to the original ruling which occurred long before he even thought about running for office Please...... Edited by 72MiMi, Nov 22 2012, 05:46 PM.
