I think it's because a lot of brothas usually sweatin' the light skin girls. Even if their uglier or heavier than comparable dark skin girls. So I think that's why some of 'em develop that attitude.
Maybe they just found these heavier and uglier light skin girls attractive. Ummm can you speak for all of them and deem what is attractive to them? UHHH nope you cant. I will say that many I have met are damn full of themselves, but I meet a lot of brown skin and dark skin ones full of themselves too. Hey SUA, it's been a few days huh. As for the weight and looks, I know my sex and I'm pretty confident that if that sista was dark with the same features (heavier, ugly), they wouldn't give her the time of day. In fact for many years, the joke was about brothas dating fat and ugly white girls when they could have been with a sista who was at least the equivalent in appearance other than color.

But looks don't matter to black men with non black women.
That's a fact.
And good looks in black women don't really matter to black men either, because they want a woman to be less than he. In other words, to bow down and be beneath him. For instance, like Sam always says that he don't bother with women who won't bow down and worship him.
So a good looking black woman is a turn off for most black men because they associate self esteem with looks. They don't want a woman who feels good about herself regardless of what she looks like.
If he can get a beautiful woman with a low esteem, he'll get excited over her.

I can attest that is and has not been the case for the most part in the last 10/15 years from my observation.
As for black women, my experience and I think a lot of brothas can relate, if a sista is fine a lot of 'em expect the world and believe the men ought to feel greatful.
I don't think a lot of men in our culture need a woman to bow down. We just don't women to try to be like a man in the relationship. Just as many woman would have a problem with men who behave effeminately in a relationship.

But most men, not specifying black, but men in general, most men cannot stand a woman who believes in herself.
A woman has to doubt herself to make most men feel comfortable.
I lost count of all the men in my lifetime who told me that I have too much confidence in myself.

Umm, well cb your "confidence" can be a little over the top, and not just with men but it seems some of the women here as well.

I think what it is with so many stressors in daily living, most men don't want a relationship or a home where they now have to "deal" with their woman. Which is why they don't feel right around a woman who believe in herself.
Just as a lot of females don't feel right with a man respecting her and will say he's too nice.
