I wondering what benefit will it be to use Win-8

If you have W7 and don't have a touch screen monitor, skip W8

At the time I don't.

It appears to me that Microsoft is more interested in Media, than standard programs.

Exactly. It's to appeal to the younger generation.....

Media is of more importance than word processing, or spreadsheets, etc....

Still usin XP?
Yeah...

It comes with 7.

Because there's certain softwares that are not updated to run on 7.

And XP is still a very good OS for Windows.

I have the following systems:

Win-7

Win Xp

Win 2000

Win ME

Win 98 SE

Knoppix-6

E-Comm station (OS/2)

I multiboot.

It depends on how I feel when I sit down in front of the screen. WIN-7 works with no lag, but XP was the only one that seemed to access a bit slow.

I wondering what benefit will it be to use Win-8

Hell, I forgot I still have win 3.11 running under a virtual screen.

Years ago OS/2-Warp-4 was my favorite OS.
win 95 was fun though...
every time i crashed the shit and call up MS tech support... dudes can`t usually reproduce crash or fix it
usual answer ``u might wanna format your drive and reload w95"
that OS had a `robotic mind " .. like infinite possibilities, never reproducible at different time span
one tech support guy said `wow never knew it does this shit" for real
but was fun though

ViewSonic VPAD10

but that slow ass intel atom compared to tegra3 chip keeps preventing me from pulling the trigger on this

I'm from the days of cassette tape loading and using BASIC.

I have an old Radio and Electronic in which a company is advertising a FIVE MEG hard drive, for only $2,100!

Ahhhh, the days of buying 16K of ram for a $199.00.

Funny thing about an old fart like me,I never get tired of learning.

Ever looked at this?

Paralleling some older junk computers, under Linux?
