Whatever happened to loyalty and standing by your team. When I was a kid Larry Bird stayed with Boston, Magic Johnson stayed with the Lakers, Dr J stayed with his team the 76ers.

But young NBA players today doesn't seem like they are loyal to anybody. Ray Allen is leaving Boston Celtics to take less money to play with the Miami Heat.

Houston TX

I have a lot of respect for Kevin Garnett he signed a new contract and remained with Boston even though a lot of teams were trying to get him.

Well for one the Celtics isn't the first team Ray Allen has played for, same with Kevin Garnett. He wants to be on a team that has the best chance for a ring, can't knock him for that. Plus these teams have no type of loyality to their players, look at what happened to Lamar Odom when he was playing for the Lakers....

It is about the rings baby, plus older players were not as free to move around like today.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...hold on Tayter.

Yes, the Lakers did try to move Odom. When that plan fell through, they were gonna keep him.

Odom is the one that got all emo, and demanded a trade. he was sent to a championship team. But that chump became emo-powered, and lost interest in winning.

He let all sorts of problems overwhelm him.

The funny thing is that his wife stood by him through thick & thin.

She seems to have more backbone that him.

He would have returned to the Lakers, if the NBA did not allow players to return to the same team that traded them within a year.

Kobe Bryant is loyal to the Lakers, Kobe is not running behind good teams trying to jump on their bandwagon to win a championship.

Lastblackman It's about selling out your team, he's taking less money in Miami and he's not going to be a starter

Tayter80 there is a difference between being traded and turning your back on your team. I think Kevin Garnett was traded to Boston.

Kevin could have left Boston and gone to another team this year, but he's loyal to his team and that city and for that reason he resigned with Boston.

First of all you're a grade A moron. Ray Allen was used as trade bait this year but it fell apart. See you claim this loyalty shit but I guess it doesn't apply to the teams. As for Kobe wasn't he trying to get traded a few year ago. He also has a no trade clause in his contract. I'm sure you know what is. But then again you're a brain dead moron Marcus.
