White on white crime.......

In the wake of the tragic death of Trayvon Martin conservatives decided it would be a great idea to keep quoting the sobering statistics as they relate to black on black crime. They seem to enjoy saying that 94% of black men will die at the hands of another black man. They want to know why black leaders are not marching and protesting against those numbers.

I have a question for them. What do they intend to do about white on white crime?

84% of whites are killed by other whites and I want to know why aren't conservatives just as upset about that number? I mean why aren't they quoting that number when they talk about the 94% of blacks that kill each other? Is it because talking about that number doesn't scare whites as much as the 94% number? Are they trying to paint a certain image of African Americans to their audience? Is it that actual reporting and trying to state both sides of a story have long gone out the window?

It's probably a combination of all of the above but if you are going to talk about statistics for one group shouldn't you talk about the statistics of another so that your audience has something to compare those numbers to? Wouldn't they be " fair and balanced "?

It is common knowledge that most people are murdered by someone they know.

Yes, you do have more to fear from relatives, spouses, offspring, parents, friends, co-workers, lovers, neighbors, and associates of those I just mentioned than complete strangers.

It is common knowledge that most crime is intra-racial.

Regardless of your color, or ethnic background, you have more to fear from your "own kind" because that is who you interact with the most.

Interracial crime stands out because it is not so common.

It is different, thus making it taboo.

Well, this is common knowlegde to me.

Serial killers are usually going after the same race. What serial rapist/killer goes solely after another race?

But yea sam you are right

Where is the media, how come they are not reporting what I already knew from almost every channel I turn to some white person is killing their wife, husband, kids and kidnapping and raping other people kids. Sometimes I have to turn off the t.v because it's channel after channel after channel and no news channels mind you but supposedly real stories. I refuse to believe that the stories are true stories because there are so many different stories it boggles my mind.

It's common knowledge to some but various media outlets (cough Fox News) try to spin it. The bottom line is you're more likely to be killed by someone you know in a neighborhood you live in from someone who is in your same ethnic circle. But ironically the fear is situated solely on the lowest number, interracial murder rates. Just like Sam typed. But that fear causes crimes where a Black man supposedly murdered a White man and woman (OJ) and a White man who admitted to murdering a Black teen (Zimmerman) to be pushed into national spot light while Black on Black and White on White crimes run rampant and ignored.

Black people aren't marching for Black on Black crimes for the same reason Whites don't march for the countless White on White crimes. It's too normal of an occurrence to give a shit.

The only exception I would make to Blaq and Sam's statements is this:

In KS (I can't speak for anywhere else....) there is a whole lot of Black Vs. Latino killings...and they are always young boys too.... young men....

There is also lots of white / white and black / black killings as well...not so much latino / latino killings, however.

And it "seems" most women who murder, are white. I haven't looked up any data, so this is purely my own speculation of the idea....
