When I was a teen, I had a friend who wanted to go to jail.

He swore that jail is the place where the experience would make you a man, or a bitch.

I told him the armed forces can do the same thing.

I told him jail was nothing more than a human zoo.

Some human trash can't think for themselves, and would rather have some warden tell them what to do.

You can't mentally free someone unless they open their eyes first.

Right and although college isn't for everyone, the alternative shouldn't be JAIL.
No doubt.
Jail is not the alternative. My plumber didn't spend a day in college and that brotha gets pizaid

Maybe the only two alternatives should not be jail or education. It is shocking in the black community that there is no foundation for entrepreneurs or building up our business base. We do not teach our children about finance, economics or money markets. On every money channel from Bloomberg, CNBC etc you never see any black presenter or black people talking about the stock exchange or businesses unless it is sport related or Oprah.
That is a good point about plumbers Ken, it is looked down on as a menial job but the salaries are high. The same with farming which is having a resurgence.

An education means a multitude of things.

It means finishing your high school diploma so you can go on to become a smarter entrepeneur, it means going on to college, it means going to trade school to be a PIZAID plumber.

It means teaching your children about finance and economics.

Education and becoming an entrepreneur to me are two different things. I value education but for many of us it means getting knowledge and learning skills to work for someone else and ensuring that they get rich. Being an entrepreneur is gaining knowledge and putting your skills to use to work for yourself, to create a business and to hire people which we need in the black community.

Isn't gaining knowledge education regardless of what you do with the knowledge obtained??

That is cool that they are two different things to you, but without the proper education, would you be able to become a successful entrepeneur?

Not really.

You yourself said entrepeneurship is gaining knowledge. What is the definition of education?

An education, be it for a trade or profession, also idicates intellectual growth & discipline.

It indicates that a person spent at least two years learning a particular skill.

The journey is just as important as the final destination.
