Its not down to a woman, a child, another man how someone behaves. All men need to take responsibility for their faults and failures. There is almost a sense of inevitability about the large numbers of black men going to prison that I do not accept and do not understand why the black community acts as if there are no solutions. There really are no words. http://newsone.com/nation/crime/ruthlogan/joshua-smith-brutally-shoots-mom-as-she-lay-sleeping/ Edited by Mal, Feb 29 2012, 02:40 PM.

That's because there are no practical solutions. There are generations of black men in prisons. People either want to do the right thing or they want to do the wrong thing. No one can change that but themselves. Blacks will always be on the lower end of the finances and that induces certain criminal behaviors in certain people to commit crimes to change that. It's kind of hard to teach the young black boy to do the right thing when his own father is in prison. It's an endless cycle it seems |

Mal, a repeat offender isn't going to take responsibility for anything. Race or gender has nothing to do with that shit. |

Mal needs to watch that MSNBC show Lock Up and listen to some of those fools they interview inside. Once in awhile they'll come across an inmate that's sorry about his crime, but most of them fuckers aren't repentent at all. Most of them admit if they get out they're probably coming back. That show is scary thinking some of those guys eventually get out |

That is what I have been trying to explain to Mal. Criminals aren't going to take responsibility for their own actions. Men or women who have kids, but refuse to take care of them aren't going to change. People who don't want a job will continue to not want a job. Being a responsible adult is what someone wants to do. |

We all know people like that, they have given up on themselves and think that they will never acheieve a stable life. I just wonder if it is too late to break that pattern and the generational problem that it has become where fathers and sons are now in prison and this is all some boys ever know. |
