I often wonder about this discipline-thing... Here's why: Often I see white parents NOT disciplining their kids. The kids are running around in the stores, touching everything, in restaurants making noise, bad manners. And I wonder - am I being too strict with my kids? That kind of behavior is not tolerated, nor would my parents have tolerated it from me. Maybe our kids should have a view that the "world is theirs" which seems to be the attitude of the white parents I've seen with their kids. Edited by VoiceofReason, Jan 6 2012, 10:06 PM.

I understand where you are coming from but our responsibility does not end with raising our kids. Keep in mind of the African belief ‘It takes a village’. It’s great that you raised two boys but your boy will come into contact with other black boys in the community. Your boys will date and possibly get married some young lady from the community. They will surely frequent stores, restaurants and other businesses in the community. Therefore, if we reach out to our brothers and sisters in our community and offer the knowledge we have, will that not serve to the greater good? We as a people must take on a mentality of LEAVE NO BLACK PERSON BEHIND attitude. Now there will be individuals who desire to remain in the dark and as they should be. |

Notice KATANA that you said along with music its role models and discipline. Thank you for proving my point that proper parenting and discipline has all the influence. Music has little to do with anything if you are properly guided by a parent. |

I dont even think Katana is with an asian or getting married anymore. I dont think she is pregnant, I dont think she is 32 or 27, I do believe she plays online gaming and that is only because I know about what she talks about. Thats the only true thing about her, she is just a big question mark |
