Why do some Black men not take any responsibility for the condition of the Black community?; From school drop outs, unemployment, gangs, abandoning families, prison populations and crime.

No kid is stupid or dumb it is often the circumstances that they have been born into that make them what they are.
Black adults need to make better choices before bringing children into the world. When you do not have emotional,
economic or a spiritual foundation then you are often not ready to be a parent. Kids need to see good values, hard
work and good manners in their parents and to have a good example to follow.

I often wonder about this discipline-thing... Here's why: Often I see white parents NOT disciplining their kids. The kids are running around in the stores, touching everything, in restaurants making noise, bad manners. And I wonder - am I being too strict with my kids? That kind of behavior is not tolerated, nor would my parents have tolerated it from me. Maybe our kids should have a view that the "world is theirs" which seems to be the attitude of the white parents I've seen with their kids.

I raised two college graduates, so I have no idea
I understand where you are coming from but our responsibility does not end with raising our kids. Keep in mind of the African belief ‘It takes a village’.

It’s great that you raised two boys but your boy will come into contact with other black boys in the community. Your boys will date and possibly get married some young lady from the community. They will surely frequent stores, restaurants and other businesses in the community.

Therefore, if we reach out to our brothers and sisters in our community and offer the knowledge we have, will that not serve to the greater good?

We as a people must take on a mentality of LEAVE NO BLACK PERSON BEHIND attitude.

Now there will be individuals who desire to remain in the dark and as they should be.

Notice KATANA that you said along with music its role models and discipline.

Thank you for proving my point that proper parenting and discipline has all the influence. Music has little to do with anything if you are properly guided by a parent.

It was a different time then. You had faith that almost any Black person in your vicinity had your child's best interest in mind. These days you have Blacks who delight in tearing specifically other Blacks down due to self-hate or other personal issues. And to suggest that in this day and age Black people should allow strangers to discipline their children just because they happen to be Black is double r tarded. It's not 1969. It's 2012.
I got my ass whooped by church members when I fucked up, and I don't have a criminal record.

BTW, that was the 1980s.
Never got my ass whooped by Church Members because I don't believe in God. Instead, I moved to Japan for a while (This is not the study thing I was talking about) and saw Japanese kids getting their ass served to them by their parents for being disrespectful, then I quieted down.

BTW, that was the year 1990. I was 10.

My Husband's a nice guy! Why are you stereotyping me?
You are old, a lot of young black women today think like the girl in that video.
I'm not old. I'm barley 27.

You posted that in the Black girls dont like nice guys thread.

I dont even think Katana is with an asian or getting married anymore. I dont think she is pregnant, I dont think she is 32 or 27, I do believe she plays online gaming and that is only because I know about what she talks about. Thats the only true thing about her, she is just a big question mark
