| Why do some Black men not take any responsibility for the condition of the Black community?; From school drop outs, unemployment, gangs, abandoning families, prison populations and crime. | |

No human being is a lost cause and that is a self fulfilling prophesy if we turn our back on people who could be helped. There are clearly some who cannot be helped and do not want to be but some have been victims of circumstance. The black male population has no choice but to try and find answers because we are destroying ourselfs and impeding the development of the black community. |

The problem with the black community is we are all individuals now and are only concerned about me. Years ago, we were stronger because we looked out for each other. I recall if any adult saw kids doing wrong, they said something, but today, you will have to fight the child and his mother/father. We stop caring about each other. We can have jobs if we target our money toward black owned business. This is one of the reason, I am proud to see people in Africa start companies because it could open up opportunities for blacks in this country. Let us get real, most black own business suffer because they do not have other people outside our community to do business with. |

Years ago we didn't have a choice. Why you negroes continue to romanticize the Jim Crow era I'll never understand. My parents never gave me a rosy review of that time. |

Right, I keep telling these people that life was not great back then. They are so fucking dumb. |

Indeed, no way in hell I would want to live during those times. |

What a stupidly ignorant comment of course from LBM. There were divisions in the Black community that were just as strong. Middle class versus Lower class, Democrats versus Republicans, the Muslims versus the Christians, students versus their parents, the church versus the Black panthers, black politicians versus civil rights groups. Black people did not agree on most things even how to get Civil rights and how best to achieve equality. |

That is not as crazy as you think because I was raised in a small town where we all saw about each other. My dad paid for quite a few of my friends to play sports. These kids could have been in the streets instead of playing sports. I know my neighbors had the rights to whipped me if I was doing something wrong, but if you say anything to some of these kids. |

Then stop living in the dark ages and making blanket statements about issues. You always sound like you grew up in a small town and stayed in a small town. There are some really good groups working with young black men and they always need volunteers even in small towns. |

People longing for the "good ole days" of Jim Crow remind me of ex-slaves pissed off about the end of slavery during the late 1800's. I don't know where the hell they were coming from and I don't ever want to know. Period. That's some wild, crazy ass shit. |
