I still go back to my point that there have been many black men who have spent periods in jail from Malcolm X, Charles Dutton, Michael Vick, Don King yet they found something to hold onto once they were released and made or are making good contributions to the black community.
There are a lot more more repeat offenders. Just sayin'
There are repeat offenders because the prison system wasn't created for rehabilitation therefore most that go in learn nothing when they get out.

However, while it isn't designed for rehabilitation there have been some, my cousin included, that used the resources available to do something when he came out of prison. In his case it's playing for a semi-pro team in Texas.

You need to have drive, determination, and a want to change the way you've been living your life if you hope to come out of jail rehabilitated. However, there are also people who just make mistakes and find themselves in jail. You will also notice they tend to do a stint, come out, and never go in, again, because, let's face it, we all do shit that will get us in jail no matter how pristine or "holier-than-thou" you think you are. And all it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time with that police scanner goes out that they are looking for a Black male between 4'9" and 7'2".
If going to jail itself isn't rehab, i don't think nothing is. You have to tell yourself, this isn't where i want to be.

Yeah, it's real sad commentary when a cats thinks or feels that being in jail is better than being on the street. A bitter irony is that some cats live longer by being in jail than they would on the streets of gang banging and dope slangin. Somebody usually ends up dead at some point!

Being in jail is better than being on the street if you're gonna do nothing but be on the street and in trouble.

You can' trow people away like so much trash. That's simply social darwinism. Yes, some cats don't care, but they doesn't make them devoid of humanity. Blaq, is right rehibilitation is a sick joke. many these cats come out with felons are become persona non grada. How do you claw you way back into society with that hanging over you head? Let me very clear, I'm not suggesting that people not be accoutable for their actions because I believe fervently that they do. However, the countervailing argument is that people are flawed and will make mistakes in life. Those who show a desire and propensity to change should be provided avenues to do so. Otherwise recidivism will contuinue at very high level. A vicious cyle.

No it's not a joke.

It all depends on what one considers rehabilitation.

It's actually some people's idea of it that's a joke.

Well it depends on what you went to jail for. Hard as fuck for people who murdered someone. But thats not a minor mistake....I have no sympathy for anyone who feels killing someone to gain something was ok.

I see alot of negros who want that fast cash and go in and ou tof jail because they either get back into the drug game and DONT WANT TO WORK FOR THEIR SHIT or they cant keep their hands off peoples shit AND DONT WANT TO WORK FOR THEIR SHIT. They make shitty excuses about why they cant get a job because of their record.

Sadly, there are more of these clowns than the ones who actually get out and start small and work their way back up. They understand they have to start their life over. Other negros want hope into a management position and make top bucks, we have a felon working with us. Cool as dude, More tats than me.....felons can get jobs they just have to work harder than us. But thats the price you pay for doing dumb shit

Drugs just need to be legalized. That will cut down on a lot of
needless killing.
