Why do some Black men not take any responsibility for the condition of the Black community?; From school drop outs, unemployment, gangs, abandoning families, prison populations and crime.

I do not mind in the least people coming down on me. The comments are interesting and well thought out. I object to so many threads that are just ridiculous and dont even attempt to look at anything serious that is happening in the black community. Tatts, weaves, skimpy clothes, brothers with white hieffas and going to the club are resurrected all the time by Marcus and his fake names.

See Damien, people are coming down on Mal.
I don't think "coming down on Mal" is exactly accurate

Yea, I dont think your words were harsh or unjustified, I was being sarcastic in reference to Damien. I simply meant in disagreement with him.

I think Mal's heart is in the right place, you just can't save people from themselves

I still go back to my point that there have been many black men who have spent periods in jail from Malcolm X, Charles Dutton, Michael Vick, Don King yet they found something to hold onto once they were released and made or are making good contributions to the black community.

A real woman wouldn't be with a man who would fight over her. A real woman handles it herself and she picks who she wants, not who "wins" her in some fight

You speak the truth the stats for repeat offenders are a disgrace and the cost of prisons is increasing. Out of all inmates, 52 percent are repeat offenders. The average American prison is found to be 14 percent overcrowded with some prisons carrying 34 percent over their capacity. Our government spends $60 billion annually on prisons. With these numbers increasing every year, state prisons are draining the value of our country’s neighborhoods, economies and families. Surely that money can be better spent as prison seems to be the only option for too many who have opted out of society.

There are repeat offenders because the prison system wasn't created for rehabilitation therefore most that go in learn nothing when they get out.

However, while it isn't designed for rehabilitation there have been some, my cousin included, that used the resources available to do something when he came out of prison. In his case it's playing for a semi-pro team in Texas.

You need to have drive, determination, and a want to change the way you've been living your life if you hope to come out of jail rehabilitated. However, there are also people who just make mistakes and find themselves in jail. You will also notice they tend to do a stint, come out, and never go in, again, because, let's face it, we all do shit that will get us in jail no matter how pristine or "holier-than-thou" you think you are. And all it takes is being in the wrong place at the wrong time with that police scanner goes out that they are looking for a Black male between 4'9" and 7'2".

I don't know or see how this hard to understand. If you have the time to blow a dub on a blunt every other day and take the time to smile it. Then that means you gave the money for a book to read to learn a trade and time to type out a resume
