‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Spoilers: Third Movie To Conclude Trilogy, Lead Straight To ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ BY SALLY JAPCO ON 07/07/17 AT 4:48 AM
Even if all the focus is currently on Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” the studio’s president, Kevin Feige, recently dropped some exciting tidbits about their upcoming film, “Thor: Ragnarok.”
Feige revealed that “Ragnarok” will conclude the “Thor” trilogy, and it will open up the storyline for their next “Avenger” film. “I think that we are finding ourselves as we complete Phase 3 and finish this 22-movie narrative that it’s working out that way,” he told the Toronto Sun. “We did three ‘Iron Man’ films, three ‘Captain America’ films, three ‘Thor’ films. Things change drastically in ‘Ragnarok’ and then build directly into ‘Infinity War.’”
Several new players will be introduced in “Ragnarok,” and one of them might even be included in “Infinity War.” Some fans suspect that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will play a huge arc in the upcoming movie, so she would probably be joining Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as he fights alongside his fellow Avengers.
Valkyrie was earlier rumored to be Thor’s new love interest, but that title still belongs to Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. Instead, Thor and Valkyrie will develop mutual respect for each other and friendship.
When asked earlier by Entertainment Weekly about Valkyrie’s future in Marvel, Thompson already hinted that it’s possible she will appear in more movies. “You never know where people will pop up. In the next phase, the hope is to find ways to interweave all these characters, and certainly with ‘Infinity War,’ those are the culmination of a lot of work since ‘Iron Man,’” she said. “She’s part of the tapestry now. For me, it’s exciting to join at a time with young actors like Brie Larson and Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan. We’re all hopefully going to meet in one of these movies.”
Brie Larson is going to portray Captain Marvel, while Chadwick Boseman is the Black Panther and Michael B. Jordan is the villain, Erik Killmonger. It remains to be seen how Marvel will interweave all of their stories, but one thing is for sure - it’s going to be pretty exciting to watch.
“Thor: Ragnarok” will be released on Nov. 3.
“Thor: Ragnarok” will be the last of three “Thor” movies and open the storyline for “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Laurence Fishburne joins the MCU as Bill Foster. Michelle Pfeiffer will play the original Wasp.

Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp casts Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne
Catwoman and Morpheus are now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Bryan Bishop@bcbishop Jul 22, 2017, 9:30pm EDT
Marvel Studios finally took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con today, and president Kevin Feige started things off my talking about the sequel Ant-Man and The Wasp. The standout news was several casting additions: both Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne will be joining the cast.
Pfeiffer be playing the character Janet van Dyne, the wife of inventor Hank Pym, who was played by Michael Douglas in the original film. Van Dyne is an essential character in Marvel lore. She was the original person to take on the moniker of The Wasp, who appeared in a brief flashback sequence in the 2015 film. But in the comics she was even more integral as a founding member of The Avengers themselves. Pfeiffer herself is no stranger to comics adaptation either, famously playing Catwoman and Selina Kyle in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns.
Fishburne will be taking on the roll of Dr. Bill Foster. While it’s not yet clear exactly how Foster will play into Ant-Man and The Wasp, he’s yet another significant figure from the world of Marvel comics. Foster acquires the same kind of growing powers that Ant-Man uses, which he deploys under the name Black Goliath. Fishburne is a genre favorite in his own right across multiple films, but none more notably than as Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy.
Along with Pfeiffer and Fishburne, Feige also announced two additional casting additions. Actor Hannah John-Kamen (Black Mirror, “Playtest”) will be playing Ghost, while Veep’s Randall Park will be playing Agent Jimmy Woo.
The original Ant-Man featured Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a would-be burglar who stumbles into a superhero role after stealing the classic Ant-Man suit that lets him grow and shrink at will. The film was a tonal shift for Marvel at the time, embracing a more comedic, breezy tone, which made it one of the more unique offerings on the studio’s slate. With director Peyton Reed returning, Ant-Man and The Wasp is likely to key hewing to that same light tone. It’s scheduled for release on July 6th, 2018.
Also in the comics, Bill Foster & Luke Cage slugged it out (as Marvel heroes are prone to do) over the affections of Claire, before joining forces to beat the bad guys (another Marvel tradition).
