The full trailer should be available by tomorrow.

Damn, this looks great!

Michael Keaton, the first cinematic Batman, is the Vulture!!!

We got Tony Stark, and sexy Aunt May!!! I never thought May Parker could be sexy.

We have a truly diverse cast of characters that reflect modern America.

2017 is gonna be a great year for Marvel films.

I better get some sleep.

The full trailer just dropped!!!

Tom is, without a doubt, the best Spider-Man ever.

Tony Stark: "That's not a hug. I'm just grabbin' the door for you."

Spidey Pummels Avengers, Faces Off With Vulture in First 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Trailer

Yahoo Movies Marcus Errico

Yahoo Movies December 8, 2016

This is Peter Parker’s chance to prove himself — and the first thing he has to do is take down the Avengers. Piece of cake.

The debut trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming premiered Thursday during ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, presenting an extended look at Tom Holland’s inaugural solo outing as Marvel’s vaunted web-slinger following his grand Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War.

Posted Image

If this preview is an accurate indication, Homecoming will ping-pong between Spidey’s larger-than-life heroics and his painfully mundane life as a high-school dweeb, not unlike the comic books on which the Sony-Marvel joint is based.

Things kick off with our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler facing off against Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk… or at least a gang of thugs wearing Avengers masks. He makes quick work of the Fauxvengers, but not before getting off some one-liners and giddily remarking at the end of his thrashing, “That was awesome!”

Posted Image

Then it’s Peter as put-upon high-schooler, admiring an attractive girl from afar (Laura Harrier) and being labeled a loser by a classmate.

Peter’s presumed haplessness becomes a refrain of the trailer. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) pops in, and, when Peter asks what kind of test is there to become a real Avenger, snarks, “Don’t do anything I would do. And definitely don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. There’s a little grey area in there, and that’s where you operate.”

See, Stark doesn’t think Spidey is a prime-time player yet. “Listen, I know school sucks. I know you want to save the world. But you’re not ready yet.” Especially when it comes to a terrifying new villain in town. “Forget the flying monster guy. There are people who handle this sort of thing.”

Posted Image

Mr. Flying Monster Guy is the Vulture, one of Spider-Man’s oldest nemeses. The Vulture was introduced in The Amazing Spider-Man No. 2 in 1963, albeit it in the less imposing form of a skinny bald dude in a green-feathered get-up.

Homecoming‘s next-level Vulture has a serious costume upgrade. And the man inside the suit (erstwhile Batman Michael Keaton, now on the other side of the law), has a warning for Spidey to stand down: “Don’t mess with me, because I will kill you and everybody you love.”

Poor Peter Parker can’t catch a break.

But Pete’s nothing if not persistent. Towards the end of the 2-minute, 15-second clip he proclaims: “This is my chance to prove myself.”

Posted Image

The clip features some solid action, from the first glimpses of the Vulture to Spidey, reveling in his new Tony Stark-issued supersuit, somersaulting from the tip of the Washington Monument over a helicopter. And the trailer closes with a money shot of Spider-Man and Iron Man in a classic Marvel team-up.

The Jon Watts-helmed Homecoming also stars Jon Favreau (returning as Happy Hogan; although his bit from Wednesday’s teaser, where he delivers the new spidersuit, is not included in the full trailer), Marisa Tomei (Peter’s Aunt May), as well as Zendaya (purportedly playing the new Mary Jane Watson), Bookem Woodbine (as secondary villain Shocker), Donald Glover, Tony Revolori, Hannibal Burress, Martin Starr, and Jacob Batalon.

Spider-Man: Homecoming spins into theaters July 7, 2017.

Bonus clip: Tom Holland’s introduction of the trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live was set up by “The Running of the Spider-Men,” which saw Holland among an army of webslingers crossing Hollywood Blvd. en masse into the studio, with Kimmel then trying to locate Holland in the group. Iron Man star says Holland is the perfect actor to take on the young superhero role.

Robert Downey Jr has revealed that he will return as Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. The actor will be reprising his iconic character in Spider-Man: Homecoming and recently joked that he is yet to be released from his Marvel contract.

When asked about Infinity Wars, the 51-year-old told Entertainment Tonight at the 4th Annual Make-a-Wish Wishing Well Gala on Wednesday (8 December) in Los Angeles, "We have a start date! That's, you know, when you start shooting. So I have yet to be released from my Marvel contract! You heard it here first!"

Downey Jr has wrapped filming for his eighth appearance as the billionaire industrialist in the upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, which stars Tom Holland as the web slinger. The actor also spoke about working with Holland and revealed why he is the perfect actor to take on the young superhero role. He said, "It's a 21st century take on it. I am really excited at the way it's being re-imagined."

Although he did not mention who was his favourite Spidey, he noted,"I'm good friends with Toby, so I can't play favorites here, but that Tom Holland guy is something else. I was [always] in a good mood when I was shooting my little bit in [Homecoming], so that must mean it's an excellent motion picture." Before Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield took on the role of the web slinger in earlier Spider-Man films.

The movie will find a young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) navigating his way through high school while fighting crime as Spider-Man. The Marvel movie is set to release on 7 July 2017 and Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 is slated for release on 4 May 2018.
