Lance Gross Teases Connection to Green Lantern Role! by Randy Micah Smith ⋅ Posted on August 1st, 2015 at 8:58pm ⋅ Last edit on August 3rd, 2015
In brightest day, in darkest night...
For some time now, rumors have been slinging about, this way and that, in terms of who would (or should) play the starring role in the DC Cinematic Universe's turn at a solo Green Lantern movie. Now that we know the movie will be Green Lantern, and thus focusing on more than one of the Green Lanterns from Earth, it's pretty much confirmed that John Stewart will be among them. What isn't confirmed, though, is who will play the part.
Fan casting has volunteered all manner of different faces in the role--Denzel Washington, Tyrese Gibson, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, rapper Common, Taye Diggs, Morris Chestnut, and even David Ramsey, who already has the role of John Diggle on the CW's Green Arrow TV adaptation, Arrow. In the midst of these, though, a new name has since thrown his hat into the ring, and it is neither of the above. Ladies and gents, is our first live action John Stewart... Lance Gross?
The above picture came directly from Lance Gross on Instagram (with a link also appearing on Twitter), captioned 'In Brightest Day'. And, of course, his followers on Twitter and Instagram are eagerly awaiting news of just what this means. Has he just been in talks, like Tyrese Gibson says he has? Or has he make it past what look like hordes of other contenders, and won the role?
Of course, until either he or Warner Bros or any other insider say for absolutely certain, it's all no more than speculation, but what do you think? Is it just an announcement from one of the hopefuls, that he got to audition? Is he wishing all the best to someone else who got picked? Or is this Lance Gross' way of telling us that he will be John Stewart for the DC Cinematic Universe?
Always remember this very important truth about bow ties.
I will share this with my little boy and with the love of my life!!

Tyrese Gibson VS. Lance Gross For Green Lantern Role? By smj12 @smj12swurv · On August 4, 2015
We’ve been reporting about Tyrese going on and on about Warner Bros. and Green Lantern all year. But now, it seems he may have some competition.
Lance Gross is apparently testing the waters to see how much fan support he can get for the role of John Stewart in Green Lantern Corps. Of course, Tyrese Gibson, of the Fast & Furious and Transformers franchise, has been the most vocal campaigner for the role. He’s been borrowing an idea from his Fast & Furious co-star Vin Diesel’s playbook, jumping to social media to tease and wet the appetite of fans.
In case you don’t know, Lance Gross was in Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of A Marriage Counselor. And it seems that Gross is copying that same social media fan support formula.
Vin Diesel was able to convince fans and the internet that he was apart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe long before he’d ever had a meeting with Kevin Feige and Marvel. While initially teasing fans that he was possibly playing Thanos, Diesel wound up playing Groot in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. However, with the door open to the Marvel-powers-that-be, Diesel is now rumored to have locked down the role of Black Bolt in the Inhumans movie. Nothing has been confirmed.
With Green Lantern Corps. having just been confirmed at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con and rumored to feature Hal Jordan, Stewart and possibly Guy Gardner, we can unfortunately expect more actors to start similar campaigns, as the DC Cinematic Universe grows.
Tyrese Gibson Has Competition, Lance Gross Wants Green Lantern Role
by Sandra Perez
When you think of Green Lantern, you think of either two things: The horrible, terrible, no good, very bad, Ryan Reynolds flop, or Tyrese Gibson. That might soon be changing.
Why Reynolds? Because the film was so bad it still haunts us. Why Tyrese Gibson? Because if you have spent any time online these past several months, you’d know that he desperately wants to sport Green Lantern’s ring.
It’s no secret, Gibson want to be the Green Lantern in the upcoming DC comics movies. Whether it’s on Twitter or Instagram (and sometimes both), Gibson has posted fan art and Green Lantern photos. At first, it annoyed fans (yeah…he would post that often), but now some ignore it while others love the idea.
Well, Gibson might now have some competition. Cinemablend brought it to our attention first. There’s another actor out there that wants to be John Stewart, and his name is Lance Gross.
Unlike Gibson, Gross isn’t as widely known. Some fans might know the star from his work in House of Payne, as well as other Tyler Perry projects.
The speculation started with Gross himself, as he took to Instagram to post a photo of the popular Green Lantern sign with the caption “In Brightest Day.” The photo went up in the beginning of the month, but sources are just now taking notice.
So far, judging from the comments left by fans on Gross’ post, fans are loving the idea! One person that might not be too happy is Gibson. However, there’s a chance both actors could star as Green Lanterns, though not John Stewart.
The source shares that the first Green Lantern chapter will be titled Green Lantern Corps, and feature several Lanterns. Gibson has made claims about having meetings with Warner Bros. so the role of John Stewart could already belong to him for all we know. This doesn’t mean Gross can’t be a Lantern (just a much less important Lantern), too.
(NEW YORK) -- The stars of Fantastic Four were in Brooklyn, New York, Tuesday night for the premiere of the superhero movie.
Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara play the brother-and-sister duo of Johnny Storm and Sue Storm. For Jordan, it was a role that meant a lot to him personally.
He said, "Being able to be a superhero, a childhood character I always looked up to, emulated and pretended to be as a kid, it's a dream come true."
Mara explained the actors' approach to their roles: "Our director and our producers really wanted our take on playing superheroes to be very relatable and like real human beings, so, the powers are just another special thing about them."
Fantastic Four, also starring Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, hits theaters on Friday.
