When black people were Republicans in the 1920's, black people built the Black Wall Street in Tulsa Oklahoma. During that time black people owned bus companies, cab companies, drug stores, hotels, 15 grocery stores, movie theaters, 2 newspaper companies, blacks owned 2 black public schools, a hospital, a bank, etc.

When black people were Republicans black people had the mind to do for self.

We've had both Republicans and Democrats run this country since the 20 century. how is it democrats fault that Blacks don't own that many businesses? And dont tell me blacks dont vote repub, because they voted for Bush and Regan.

The issue is not about repub or democrat its about a mindset. In the early 1900's we had a strong moral code we believed in marriage and education. Nurses and doctrs and lawyers were looked up to and criminals were not uplifted.

The mindset needs to change. If it did we would vote for whatever party is meeting our demands.

The dems are not doing it and the repbs are not. Youneed to vote individuals and never party.

peace.

K7, you guys fail to mention that in before 1965, blacks were allowed in many white owned businesses, and many of them were not hiring us, so we had to create our own business just to survive. I recall my mother telling me how they had to go the back of a cafe' just to buy food. Many places would not serve blacks so we had to have our own.
I agree that the mindset needs to change and we need to understand why we should support each other.

In 1996 I was a buisness manager for a org that sent me to tulsa,ok for training for PTI automation.I visit that area of tulsa which was about 10 or 15 min from down town.I could really feel the lost there. The folks their were really now to earth. I notice that during the day it was like a ghost town but as I was leaving and heading back to downtown tulsa just before dark you wouldn't believe the traffic leaving downtown heading there. I was told by a few of the folks there that after the riots alot of blacks buisness gave up cause every time a buisness got reopen or started whites would burn it down and hang the owner and or family member.
