Those kids are beautiful! That's me!

I look like Buckwheat.
And I'm beautiful!
And I've been called pickaninny by whites and Hispanics more times than I count. And I never ever cared. Never gave it a thought beyond the name caller being stupid.
Dumb people assume that all blacks have an issue with being black. But the thing is, they have an issue with themselves. No one can hurt you with a name unless you have a problem with yourself to begin with.
"WHEN THERE IS NO ENEMY WITHIN, THE ENEMIES OUTSIDE CANNOT HURT YOU." --- African Proverb
The next time somebody calls you black, buckwheat, or whatever, don't turn red, flip the script and tell them the truth. "You're Stupid."
It works like a charm. And the name caller is guaranteed to shut up.

After some research I know it has been around for centuries, but I've never heard anyone call another person that.
When I made the statement of "I think if People actually put the same focus on actual issues and problems as much as they do with Buckwheat, the World would have less problems in it!" I was refering to Society's problems. It includes our government, but it was refering to Society as a whole. I see how People on this Message Board are getting bent out of shape over stupid little things when there are giant fish to fry!
We can say the People on here are stupid, that they're idiots; but the truth is they aren't alone in their thinking!

I here you Hazey, and I understand completely.
I also understand that society is comprised of people, and if people want a fair life, then they have to be fair to themselves. We can't expect to do our wild thing going bonkers without a care in the world and then expect a government to look out for our best interest. Life do not work that way.
What I'm trying to teach people is that a society or nothing in it exist without people. So when you have mass problems, the individuals make up for that mass. And they have to correct themselves. No government is trying to go there. No government is responsible for an individual.

Perhaps you should tell the Congressman that boasted about his favorite way to address blacks, the same thing you just said, and maybe Congress could clean up their act. Congress and their relentless search for a way to destroy Pres. Obama is an excellent example of how whites in power become predators of the little person regardless of ethnicity. You know what bothers me the most about this kind of mind-set is the whites were the ones responsible for bringing blacks to America to begin with, all beit for the wrong reasons, but now that they are "stuck" with us they don't know how to get rid of us except to continually denigrate blacks, and other cultures. Is that really the way to solve problems? And that my dear "Hazshawn" is the reason noone can do better. Until the wrongs have been righted, all of the focusing you try to force on people will not change a thing. The pendulum must swing the other direction somewhere along the line, it can't go to the right forever. I'm 71 yrs old now and never in my life have I seen so much dissension among a nation of people following the election of a Black Man as President. You can call me an old crude, biased, opinionated person, but life has afforded me a lot more experience and knowledge than any book or College Professor could do.
I could be wrong, But I think he means our personal problems. Take care of those. Not congresses. Congress is a part of our personal problems. There are human beings at stake every time they play the cat/mouse game. I knew what he was saying I went to it from another avenue.

People are a bigger problem to themselves than congress is. Congress will change will the people change. As you say and I have also, people will change when they make the decision to do so. However if the "world" around them doesn't make changes they will slide backwards because of their own fragile "operating system", and that all includes cultures, not just blacks. It takes a firm platform for even a a self supported person to stand on and not tremble at the first rattle of a thunder clap. Americ doesn't have a frim platform and hasn't had in several years.

America is no different than any other nation that lives on the weaknesses of it's citizens.
It's going to take time Ms. Memdear, but people have to make an effort to clean up their act. We're not concentrating on our assets, our children, and that's what governments bank on. What the whole system relies on. People have got to clean up their act Ms. Memdear.
We can make the government accountable to us fairly when we have become accountable and fair to ourselves. As long as they can control us with TV, media, entertainment and narcs, nothing for us is going to ever approach fair. We have to be fair to ourselves first.

I literally don't care.
There's a lot of black men sitting in jail doing hard time over some stupid shit somebody said to them that they could have walked away from.

CB I am a grown azz man and I am not gonna take kindly to someone calling me a little Negro child. Do you think of yourself as a little Negro Child? You say you're a grown Man, so why should a small remark phase you. Remember the old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"?
