You love to speak against the religion of Islam, but those were white Christian president that owned slaves. How can Christian Americans point fingers at anybody when you look at America's evil history?

This is the part of American history that white people don't like to talk about, they don't put this in their history books for students to read.

I point fingers at anybody when I think basic human rights are being violated.

But when you read the history of Islam and slavery, it seems far worse (to me) on several different levels. But both religions are GUILTY. I would never say that all Christians are angels.

You might better go back and read up on slavery in America, it was very brutal. Black slaves were beaten, hung and everything else. For 100's of years in America black women who were slaves were raped by the white slave owners. It was against the law for a black person to read, and if a black person was caught with a book in their hand trying to read they would be beaten.

I would never downplay the brutality of slavery in the US. I have read up on it and I agree with all the things you say. But, slavery is deeply embedded in Islamic law and tradition. Literally millions of Christians were captured into slavery during the many centuries of Jihad against the West. So pervasive were the incursions by the Turks into Eastern Europe, that the English word for slave is based on Slav. Muslim slave raiders even operated as far north as England.

Worse still, at least 17 million slaves (mostly black women and children) were brought out of Africa by Islamic traders - far more than the 11 million that were taken by the Europeans. However, these were only the survivors. As many as 85 million other Africans were thought to have died en route.

Not a day goes by when there are no CURRENT news story about Islam and slavery. Here is one from today:

http://www.magharebia.com/cocoon/awi/xhtml1/en_GB/features/awi/features/2011/01/18/feature-03

There is NO abolitionist movement within Islam, every TODAY! And why should there be? Since Muhammad was a slave owner and slavery is permitted in the Qur'an, the Muslim world has never needed to apologe for this practice. Even Muslims in the West will often try to justify slavery under Islam, since it is a part of the Qur'an.

Excellent information. Thanks for sharing. Some people do not have a mind to research for themselves so they believe what ever is put before them. Even though I went to a predominately white school, My mother provided me with a lot of black history as well as the black publications such as Ebony and local black newspapers. History was the order of the day back then but it has become a glamor spread today.
