You gotta give Steve Harvey credit for inadvertently exposing a bit of truth about himself. Men who think that way are the ones who can hardly keep any 'doable', woman as a close, 'platonic' friend - in whatever context, be it work-related, or neighborly, or just about any other context IF the female is considered 'fuckable' by the male in question, and vice versa. And to be frank, I can relate to that. Realistically, there are males who have a strong, long-term tendency to sow their 'wild oats', and females who will devise the best seduction scenario for a man she wants to hook or just have sex with. So, yes, men and women can be ['platonic'] friends, BUT, be aware that, (a) the situation could change at some point in time and, (b) most people are 'playing the role' and putting on a 'front'. If you threw in a few different ingredients to the mix - such as a lil' alcohol, a semi-dark room w/ color lighting, a tight short-mini dress, some back 'dat ass up' or 'bump & grind' music, and two people who can use a good screw...... SWOOOSH!... that 'platonic-friend' shyt goes right out the window. Of course, there are many exceptions to that but when it comes to male and females who have even an ounce of mutually, fuckable magnetism - however well-hidden, suppressed or delayed - the potential to 'lock asses' is ever-present. Not necessarily. Its hard to be friends with someone whom you have a sexual attraction to. So it doesnt make you weak. It makes you honest. But I think people who have no attraction to each other can be friends. |

If a man can't be around a woman without thinking about sex, that's a weakness in that man In that video Steve said that if the woman that the man is friends with offer the man some sex, he's not going to turn it down. If that's true that shows a serious weakness in the man. |

^^ It's okay for you to see it as a 'weakness', Marcus... ...as long as you also understand that many men & women don't agree with, or operate that way. If you fail to allow for that then you will continue to get the disappointing and hurtful surprises you claimed the women of your past gave you. Except, next time, a couple of your male buddies might disappoint you, too. (that's a scary thought, huh?) So, Ms. SUA is correct on how sexual attraction is THE key factor. And since people can hide it or be in denial about it, it aint easy to tell whether it's 'there' or what conditions can bring it out. But on da 'real'... I'm not convinced that you wouldn't 'get at' some tempting, sexy ass, yourself, under certain circumstances. I think you're 'frontin'. Edited by Mister J, Dec 14 2010, 12:44 PM.

Why would I want a woman as a friend? Maybe a friend with benifits. But could I have a woman as a friend? That depends on how she looks to me, and how many beer's I have to injest to make her look like that. |

You don't. What benefits? Of course not. Sounds like beer is your friend.
