Tayter80 they see race differently, Obama criticized Black Nationalism for their hard stance on white people. A black person with 2 black parents wouldn't get offended by Black Nationalism
This still does not answer my question, and when did Pres. Obama criticize black nationalism?
Obama criticize Black Nationalism in his Autobiography, he said he's ok with their do for self message but he's against how they speak against white people evil. By him having a white mother, that's probably why he took offense. That's a difference that an African American would have from a mixed person
So you are saying that African Americans see all white people as evil??
No I'm saying that because Obama has a white mother, he took offense to what Black Nationalist were saying about whites
I find offense when people say ignorant things about anyone's race; especially if you make generalizations about any culture. He is the President of the U.S.; not just our President people. He represents all of us. President Obama was BORN IN KENYA by the way....
If he was actually born in Kenya, he can not be president of the United States.
Yes, i realize this, however, there is audio of his grandmother confirming this. Obama's mother was near the end of her pregnancy and unable to travel by plane, so Obama was born in Kenya. The family then traveled to Hawaii and registered the birth and submitted the newspaper announcement. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread495181/pg1Even if it isn't true, him not being raised by BLACK parents has no relevance on his understanding of BLACK culture. If what you believe to be "the truth" comes out and hard evidence confirms it-- wow, is all I can say. It might go down as one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history.
I can't comment on what Obama knows about "BLACK culture". What exactly are you referring to, anyways?

People are commenting that Obama is detached from BLACK culture because he wasn't raised by BLACK parents; which is a ridiculous assessment. I understand what you're saying. However, what exactly is "black culture" defined as? And in defining it, one must assume that all black people share an identical culture (or at least very similar) which is untrue at best and ignorant at worst.

So you're saying EVERY black person has experienced "struggles" specifically stemming from their skin color? I, obviously, can't say if this is true or untrue but it's definitely a bold statement. I think it's extremely difficult (if not downright impossible) to make a true statement that starts with "EVERY ______ (insert black, white, woman, man, Asian, etc.) has done, experienced, feels, etc. _______.
Just my perspective.

True; it's extremely rare that I generalize in that way, however, if you ask any BLACK person if they've ever felt discriminated against due to race, they will admit that they have. Maybe they haven't been called a racial slur, but sometimes we experience this in subtle ways such as at work or school when people underestimate our capabilities/intellect. Or even when my white acquantainces look at me in shock when they discover that I don't restrict myself to certain types of music or that I prefer watching the Colbert Report instead of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.' Sometimes we are put into this 'small box' and it can be offensive at times.
