Being raised by white people gave Obama an advantage that most black kids don't have, it helps him better understand white people, but not being raised by black people was a disadvantage for him
I disagree. Growing up with white people does not mean you will understand white people better. I still have problems understanding white people sometimes and I have alot of white people in my family; was pretty much raised by my white grandfather. I'm BLACK myself and sometimes my own people confuse me. lol
You don't look like you have a white grandfather. Being raised by white people was an advantage for Obama, if you notice Obama seems real comfortable around white people. He seems more comfortable around white people than he does black people I'm comfortable around both. & you do know that some of your ancestors are white as well? lol

Obama is half white, so can he truly understand black people. On top of that he's not a decendent of slaves like most black Americans
So people who are mixed can't understand black people? WHAT???? Ya'll really kill me with all this BS.....
People who are decendents of slaves we see things totally different than people who are not, it's like black Americans might see things totally different than a black person that recently came here from Africa What does an African American see different than a person who is mixed? Explain this to me....

I'm comfortable around both. & you do know that some of your ancestors are white as well? lol A White woman gave birth to Obama, and he was raised by white people for the first 18 years of his life, you can't buy that kind of experience. That gave Obama and advantage in understanding white people

What does an African American see different than a person who is mixed? Explain this to me.... Obama said it himself he said that he caught hell from white people, because he had a black father and he said black people rejected him because he had a white mother. In his Autobiography Obama said that he didn't know where he fit in, he said that he was searching for his idenity

Tayter80 they see race differently, Obama criticized Black Nationalism for their hard stance on white people. A black person with 2 black parents wouldn't get offended by Black Nationalism

This still does not answer my question, and when did Pres. Obama criticize black nationalism? Obama criticize Black Nationalism in his Autobiography, he said he's ok with their do for self message but he's against how they speak against white people evil. By him having a white mother, that's probably why he took offense. That's a difference that an African American would have from a mixed person
