That's AMAZING when you look at those pictures and you look at how respectful Harriet Tubman is dressed, compared to the females today It's a night and day difference |

The women in the 1900's were fully covered and they were able to get a husband. But the women today are half naked and they can't get a husband, what does that tell us? Edited by Damn Right, Apr 26 2010, 07:00 PM.

Some people try to blame everything on slavery but those pictures proves that black people in the 1900's, wasn't acting wild and crazy like black people are doing today. Those black people in the early 1900's carried themselves with the upmost respect. So this stuff that black people are doing today I don't know where they get it from |

New York you are right black people back thing wasn't acting nothing like Black people today. Black people back thing were good people and they acted civilized, but black people today act wild and crazy. Then they lie and blame it on slavery, they need to stop that lie The slaves wasn't acting wild and crazy like these black people today There were no slaves running around looking crazy like Lil Wayne Edited by Marcus, Apr 27 2010, 01:02 PM.

Too much has been introduced to society. Not that drugs haven't been around forever but they are accessable by anyone now. The drug of "choice" used to be the weed in the black community. Now there's everything you could possibly want. Kids having kids and the parents haven't grown up which leaves the new child to fend for themselves. Ther was an article in the paper here claiming a young black mother had left her 4 children(2-9) alone for 4 days. The police found them outside playing at 11pm, took them home to find the house a wreck, no food dirty dishes, clothes all over the place., filthy matresses all over the floor. After the mother was located she pulls up in a relatively new car...hmmm. ANother case 2 girls 15-16, were found dead coroners report said from starvation. We need to stop and ask the question to these young mothers. "You do know that this child is not responsible for being here and did not ask to be here, that was your choice". "Now that it is here it is your and the fathers' responsibility to TAKE CARE of it". sending them to jail is not the answer. People in the community need to step on the parents and see that the children are taken care of and taught the right way to live, makeing sure they are in school and are really applying themselves. In most of these situations the mother and father of these abandon children are products of the same environment. We the black community is responsible for what happens to our own. Yes slavery did a job on mind-sets but there are opportunities now that weren't there before and we need to show our younger generation the way. I know it's easier said than done but we need to organize and make it happen. I have tried for several years to get a grant to help the kids who are not going to college prepare themselves for the real world and the work world. Hasn't happened yet and I'm almost 70 but I will find a way before I check out hopefully. |

Memdear that's a great comment that you made, and another things that happened was they made it against the law for parents to spank their kids, and that's when things really went down hill. Those pictures make a great point because you can actually see the moral decline of our people based on the way that they dress. Every few years we saw more and more clothes coming off, and now today people are almost walking the street naked |
