What went wrong was

1. Integration
2. Welfare
3. Drugs
4. Jail
5. AIDS
6. Increasingly BAD American society
I'd eliminate 1 and 2 from that list.
Why would you eliminate the first 2?

In those days if a young girl got pregnant out of wedlock she brought shame on her family. Black people in America use to have morals and a standard.

And if the dude didn't marry her,(which her daddy had a good talk and shotgun with him)she went "Up North" to stay with her aunt, until she had the baby, the aunt usually raised the child as her own! Girls that had babies wasn't allowed to go to a regular school, instead they attended "night school" with adults.
