A lot of our foods are made with Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) but the foods aren't labeled here in America, so consumers are not aware of what they're eating, where it's coming from, or the harmful affects of GMOs on our bodies. Check out the article below. I think you know about this... http://www.naturalnews.com/028089_GM_foods_public_health.html |

Thanks for that article Most of our sickness comes from eating the wrong food. At this point I only eat health food, I live in the Health food store. White salt is terrible for you-----if you have a taste for salt, you should only use Sea Salt Stay away from White bread, White Rice, White sugar, etc That stuff has been bleeched, and it's bad for you 1. Your body is 70% water 2. Your brain is 70% water 3. Your heart is 70% water 4. Your organs are mostly water So if you go through the day without drinking water, how can those organs function properly People drink Soda and Juice all day, and that stuff have less that 1% water So if your body is 70% water----and you're not putting any water in your body, what's going to happped to you I will put it this way, try driving a car without any oil in it |

This is something that I have been concerned with for a while. My friends and I try to eat organically and GMO free. But eating GMO free is especially difficult. We do it for ourselves and our children and are having difficulty. I would expect that at least if you shop at the higher end stores, like Whole Foods that it would be easier but it's not really. |

That is very true especially if you're getting any kind of pre-packaged food from anywhere, even organic stores, we don't know the source of every ingedient that's in our food. But at least when you go to the organic stores, I think they try their best to make sure that they're providing the most organic products possible. My family also eats as organic as we can, we also go to the local markets to get our produce from local organic farmers. I think the best way to make sure you're consuming as little GMO products as possible is to cook your own food. We really need to get away from pre-prepared and fast foods. They're doing nothing but harming us! |

You are 100% right about our need for water! Water is vital! It trips me out when some people say they don't like water, they have to have some kind of flavor in it. I don't understand. |

That's so true. I cook at home because all these places, including restaurants serve up food that is not healthy and nourishing. That's why I prefer to cook and feed my family the food I've prepared. At least I know that I make every attempt to get the best food possible. |

I wonder with everything the way it is why the government of our country does not encourage more food education. They go into the food groups and all that stuff but when it comes to food sources, they let the masses stay in the dark. |

Thanks for the article, great stuff. IMHO, I thought it was kind of funny when someone commented that PETA should be alerted b/c the bees and butterflies are being affected as a result of GMF(s). It seems like this is an economical issue as well as an social issue in terms of why some people purchase those types of food. I know there are a lot of people who just can not afford to purchase organic foods because they are more expensive. In some neighborhoods, there are a lot of food deserts, so finding a local farmers market/ food stand becomes difficult for some. imho |
