On hearing the Evening News yesterday, it was reported that Haiti will recieve a penny on every dollar collected from the donations, remembering Katrina, when the RED CROSS, stated they had to pay the staff, along with other things, before turning the money over to help those in Katrina. Why cant the monies raised to help the people, be giving to those who will be able to help the people IMMEDIATELY,, another things, great urgently for money, what about clothing, food, medical supplies, shoes, etc..who gonna go out and buy the supplies with the money donations? where will they be shopping at? doesnt that take up more valuable time, should be used to help the people? Seem to me, if people are donating things, besides money, these items should be of a great help, the push for money makes me to wonder, what really going on with all these donations. Will they are not, have to buy the supplies for the people of Haiti? what's wrong with sending goods? Lastly, why so many donations forum? if all the money, ( news broadcaster says it is NOT) dont need so many charities to send the donations. Bush and Clinton, have an donation forum also..requesting to send MONEY.. A penny on every dollar? how much will it take to raise enough to truly help the people of Haiti..then I wonder will they really get that penny. Poor Katrina victim, many still are homeless, more have died, over the years from being homeless, no proper medical care. We have to question this, as we have seen the outcome of Katrina, there was also a Heavy Cry for Money for Katrina also... Truth is always stranger than Fiction..with this in mind....be watchful on the conditions of Haiti, also heared they were planning to call off the search for victims, each day, another body is found, which lead me to be there could be more survivors. What's the rush, with all the donations coming in, shouldnt be a problem at all, to continue the search until no more survivors are found. That would be better, could it be they have grown tired of looking for victims? I do know a penny, isnt worth zero,, in today economy, a dollar isnt worth much either.. Do share your thoughts on this penny on every dollar? Do give what you can, they are in dire need, also try your best to make sure the money is going to be used to help the victims, and the penny on a dollar, really not good.. |

When disasters happen that affect dark or poor people the money never goes where you think it does. In California when they had the fires and thousands of homes were destroyed, the rich white folks were well taken care of. Haven't heard any stories of them dissapointed with them not getting their money. I didn't know volunteers get paid to assist with relief efforts. The military isn't getting extra money. |
