I don't need affirmative action to be successful.
Elle you get so much assistance you don't even know it.

Is there any other woman that has here own 24/7 media blitz promoting her as damn near perfect. You are associated with the most marketed brand in the world, the white woman.

If you were really all sisters in America, white women and minority women would get together and stop the one woman monopoly in the media. But white women won't do it because they benefit from the media blitz and they are not about to level the playing field.
Back in the days of the women's liberation movement, many white women wanted nothing to do with black women whose goals were the same.

The media is not the same thing as Affirmative Action. I find it humorous that because I am a white woman you automatically assume I have so much "assistance". This is almost as ignorant as me assuming that all blacks are on welfare. Please enlighten me on how I am benefiting from the media.
I will enlighten you just like I did about white women and affirmative action.

Why do advertisers spend billions to sell products on TV, print and Internet? Are the advertisers successful? What woman do they use to sell their products mainly, white Latin or black? Who sets the standards for what beauty is in America? Who determines who will be on TV and in print?

If TV has no power to influence why protect children from X rated shows? Why fine companies for allowing Janet Jackson to show her nipple? Face it, TV is powerful and white women are top dog billing.

If black men were advertised 24/7 every day in a positive manner like white women no one would have a bad image of them. Does anyone have a bad image of white woman even though she populates the jails, does more meth than anyone, is the largest user of welfare and has the fastest growing rate of out-of-wed lock births?

TV fixes her image every day.

White Man

Obama was born out of wedlock, he was raised by a single mother. He started drinking and using drugs as a young man. He then decided to turn his life around and he went on to become the president

Who was his father? Where did he go to college? What year did he attend. I bet you don't know these facts about Obama's father because it is not on your talking points.

By the way. George Bush was arrested and had a drug problem as a adult and turned his life around. Dick Cheney was arrested twice for DUI and turned his life around. Dick Cheney never went to college. Sarah Palin had to go to six colleges before she graduated from one. They all turned their lives around.

What make Obama special?

You, a (presumably) black man, are going to enlighten me (a white woman) about white women? I can't help but laugh at this. However, I will respond to you.

I'm against the standard of beauty that the media is portraying. It's nearly impossible for any woman (white or black) to reach it. However, do I let this dictate what I believe is beautiful? No. Do I let the media dictate on what I find is handsome in a man? No! The media can't affect me anymore than I allow it to.

I NEVER said TV has no power to influence but you're comparing apples to oranges when you compare nudity and violence to the American media's take on standard of beauty. But, again, the media can't affect me anymore than I allow it to.

White women project themselves as whores and golddiggers on television. For exmaple: anything on MTV, Girls Gone Wild, The Bachelor, anything on VH1, The Secret Life of the American teenager, Millionaire Matchmaker, The Housewives of Orange County, The Housewives of NYC, The Housewives of New Jersey, The Housewives of Atlanta, etc. etc. etc. As a white woman, these shows make me angry.

In my opinion, based on what I've watched, the media goes out of its way to portray black people in a positive light. As far as I can see, they portray black families as living the American dream with a black father having a good job and living in suburban American. God forbid if a television show was created that portrayed an uneducated single black mother living on welfare in publice housing. Even in the show "Good Times" the father was around.

I think the media portrays white women as addicted to plastic surgery, tanning, and money. Have you ever watched the show "Intervention"? I've only seen one mixed person on that show, and he had the IQ of a genius. Everyone else I have seen has been white, white, white, white.

These are simply good points.

I think the volume of images are owned by the white woman. She is all the things on TV you mentioned but she is also, 105 pounds. blonde, big house, new cars, three perfect children of which she is the same weight as the youngest daughter and more.

No woman can equal the volume of positive images that white women have on the TV.

One study indicated that 44% of white people had a negative opinion of black people. Interesting, most white people have very little interface to black people especially in CA and the west. So where do they get there opinions?

What percentage of the population has a negative view of white women? Can you imagine the economic impact on blacks due to the 44%? Try to get hired by the hidden 44%.

Have you noticed that these white women can get arrested for DUIs, photographed high, drunk, not caring for their kids right and they get chance after chance to redeem themselves. If black women do it, they're blacklisted. Can't get work at all. What's up with that?
