Overtime, viewing the different topics of this board, i realize that there are plenty of discrepancies and conflicts deciding what/who to blame for the negative images portrayed and introduced to the young minds (any race) throughout America. I purposely did not want select a certain race for this topic because i want to get all perspectives from this uncertainty. I hear people blaming parents, TV and entertainers, the lack of effort from churches, the person's self, etc. - I personally think that they all play a part in what you will become. 1. self 2. parents 3. society (tv, entertainment, etc) 4. religion What do you think? |

When you are a 2 year old kid, you don't know what you're doing so God is not going to hold you responsible for your actions. But when you become old enough to know right from wrong, God is going to hold you responsible for your actions. Black criminals know right from wrong so God is going to hold them responsible. Negative music artist know the effect that their music is having on kids, so God is going to hold them responsible. Dr. King said that silence is betrayal, so I believe that the church is going to be held responsible for being silent in the face of evil. What does God need the church for, if they're not going to take a stand against evil? |

I agree with you on the first part of infancy. But..i do not think it is the celebrities' fault for implanting images in children's mind. at the toddler age...true...they are soaking every little thing in. But shouldn't it be the parents responsibility to steer the child's embraces with punishment and rewards. I know plenty of people (including myself) who are barely affected to what is presented to them by the media. Now at the teen age, i agree with you too. you know right from wrong. I can not blame the church because the criminal involvement has gotten out of hand. Drugs, Killings, Gang activity, etc are climbing rapidly in the black communities. Most of the young teens in the churches are only there from force; Middle age adults (mostly women) can not take to much of a risk because i high percentage of them in those areas are single parents. Older age adults.....i do not even want to think of my grandmothers generation trying to weed off the negativity, that would be ridiculous. So all we really have left is middle aged men, and some women to stop this barbarity. |

I too agree when your a young child, the responsibilty is the parents and that GOD doesn't hold them(child) accountable. But, then you started you next thought with "black criminals". I understand that criminals include black people but, if I'm not mistaken criminals include all races. To single black folks out is not right and you know it. Also, i'm not sure if you ever listen to punk, rock, metal music but, the message there is just as hateful, criminally motivated, and over sexed as "some" hip-hop. If you can tolerated take a listen! GOD said talk directly to me...church is a hub that you don't have to partake in. So, ultimately IT'S FALLS ON THE PARENTS to guide their children into good citizens. Because before music, church, school teachers, and other community members engage with these children their FIRST in the care of their parents. All interaction later on are bonuses that the child/parents can filter. |

Kobe Bryant said that Michael Jordan is his hero, he said that he studies film on Michael, and when you see Kobe Bryant play, you can tell that he watched a lot of film on Michael Jordan. Some little kid is watching and studying Lil Wayne and Beyonce. Some little girl is in the mirror in her bedroom trying to learn how to shake it for men, the way that she see's Beyonce shaking it. We can lie to ourselves and say that Beyonce is not having a negative effect on kids. Should the church remain silent, when the Devil is doing his work? When we see evil and madness in society, should the church become afraid to say anything and take a stand? Should the church give Satan freedom to roam? |

Castout 76 I'm talking about in the Black community, it's Black criminals that's tearing up the place. In Chicago Black people are killing each other left and right. That's why I mentioned Black criminals Black criminals know right from wrong, when they stand before God they can't blame their actions on White people, or slavery, or anything else. Why do criminals run when the police is coming? |

I'm surprised you didn't put slavery on the list, you black people try to blame everything on slavery. You all don't want to take responsibilty for your actions. Oh Blacks are committing crime because of slavery days, that's what you all say |
