I remember reading that the very first slave owner in the colonies was black. His name was Anthony Johnson. Actually (unfortunately) thousands of free blacks owned slaves. |

You would if you bothered to do some research. What the states teach you and what you can find out on your own are two different things. Edited by cisslybee2012, Nov 24 2012, 10:49 PM.

In slavery days, There were free blacks, wealthy free blacks, and black slave owners in America. And African chiefs toured the Americas and Europe before the trade began. And the African chiefs took it very hard when the European pulled out of the trade. And as Napoleon said, Religion is what keeps the poor from killing the rich. So why do you have to divide the color bar? What about those of us in between lighter and darker? A slave was a slave regardless. And since you bring it up...who is responsible for the vast range of skin tones? |

So wait a minute...hold on hold on Lightskinned Blacks from 1620- 1800's deciding that their being half-Caucasoid, meant that it's okay to fleece the Black Race and turn darkies into their slaves---------somehow means that I divided the color bar? The millions of lightskinned Blacks in 2012 deciding that their looking half-Caucasoid, meant that it's okay to fleece the Black Race and exercise White-Privileges ---while they claim to be Black--- somehow means that I divided the color bar? ...haha... I almost spit-out my Panda-BooBoo tea, when I read that gobbledygook! |

In other words IF an answer or comment doesn't fit YOUR ideology.....then it's all wrong and no need to further discussion.....am I right? BTW whatever your shorthand means keep it to yourself...you're not a cordial person. |
