For the prisoners it is free. Guess who is toting their bill? Us, the tax payers. I once spoke to a woman who was a nurse in a prison for over 15 years. She told me that there were 3 men in her prison who were living with AIDS. Their medicine cost $30,000 a month...PER INMATE. The state is paying for this with tax payer dollars while we (the ones who did the correct thing and stayed out of jail) can't even go to the health clinic for a checkup. Is this fair? No. |

Although the current argument against health care reform is cost. Cost has very little to do with it. If anything health care costs too much now. Health care reform is about limiting health care costs, and delivering health care in a more even manner. Health care reform is about covering everyone. In order to do this we as a country must change how, and where we spend the health care dollars were already spending. One side is arguing that Health care isnt a right, and is best served by private industry with no oversight. The other side argues that health care is a right, and should be provided free of any cost to everyone on an equal basis. IMHO Health care isnt a right and couldnt be considered a right without a constitutional convention. Despite what anyone thinks Health care isnt free anywhere in the world. Someone must pay for it. You suggest that we pay for it with the money used for war. I think thats a great idea. Only the war is being fought on credit. lol were in big trouble if China puts the USA on credit hold. There is no money... there never was money... there is only the promise of money. |

The Democrats just dropped the Public Option for health care, and you're not going to have much health care reform without the Public Option. |
