Phantom rode his horse out of the streets of Teedmar. He had stayed there for a couple of days, acquiring information from travelers and traders about Haven activity in the area. The reports he found in the late Lord Goring's study was disturbing and Phantom needed to find out more. That is probably why he took a month off and went to the mountains, despite warnings of occasional raids by goblins. He steered his mount onto one of the few roads that exist in the mountains or haven't been damaged by the war. If he kept following this road, it would lead him to Burnstone Keep, which is near the first location where a large amount of troops were committed to guard. According to the report, as many as four thousand Haven Knights were ordered to guard this location. Whatever is there must be valuable. Phantom took out the report and re-read it. It said: "In the fifth month, three thousand Haven Knights was dispatched to guard the camp at 40, 768 near Burnstone Keep. We cannot afford to lose this area. Further troops may be committed later. It is the wish of the council that the troops within this area be over six thousand." Over six thousands troops? Does the Haven really have this many troops to spare? These were some of the questions racing through Phantom's head. He shook them off and continued to quest. If he needed the answers, then he simply have to find out himself, thinking about it won't help. |

The noise of hooves woke Selena, who was sleeping on top of a tree. She grabbed her bow and looked down. A Ranger was riding his horse down the roads towards Burnstone Keep, but also towards the secret experimental center built by the Haven Knights. Under Section Code 4572, Rangers were not permitted to enter this territory, unless authorized by the Council, and Selena was willing to bet her salary that this Ranger doesn't have authorization. She considered what to do for a moment. She could order him to turn back or she could call for help and make the other Knights do it. In this case, why not see what this Ranger was really up to? Selena took out a pen and a scroll and started writing. When she was finished, the scroll evaporated from her hand. Now all she had to do was sit and watch. The show was about to unfold. |

Phantom felt movement within the area around him and stopped. Judging from the noise, they were wearing heavy armors. However the noise of those armors don't sound like goblins or dwarven. They sound......human. But who? Suddenly seven Haven Knights with white armor and blue cloaks jumped out and surrounded Phantom. They pulled out their swords and stood in battle position. One of them (Phantom guessed the leader) walked up to him and said, "You are permitted to be in this area. You are now under arrest, Ranger." Phantom smiled and said, "I am just on my way to Burnstone Keep. Is that illegal now?" "It is if you are a Ranger. Rangers are not permitted to go from Teedmar beyond. Do not test me Ranger, drop your weapons or we will kill you," the leader said seriously. Phantom smiled and got off his horse. He threw down his cloak and dropped his daggers on the ground. He reached for his swords, pretending to drop them. However in a split second, he ran up to a Knight and slashed his throat. This took the others off guard and Phantom quickly killed two more by channeling his energy throw his sword and slashing throw their armor. Two of them charged at him, but Phantom simply stepped aside and one of the Knights killed the other. Before he had the chance to move, Phantom jumped behind him and stabbed him in the head. One of the Knights tried to run, but Phantom kicked at dagger at him and it struck him at the neck, where their armor was weakest. When the Knight crashed to the ground, Phantom walked up calmly to the head leader of the group. "Wh-w-what a-are you d-d-doing? Thi-this is t-treason. I-I-I can have your head!" the leader said as he tried to move backwards. But he was blocked up a large boulder. Phantom smiled and said, "Not if I have yours first." With that, he beheaded the leader and threw both the head and the body down a cliff. Still smirking, Phantom put on his cloak and began to gather his supplies. |

Selena was surprised that the man killed all the Haven Knights with such speed and accuracy. She must admit she had underestimated what this Ranger is capable of. As he bent over to gather his supplies, Selena jumped down and loaded her bow, pointing it at the Ranger. She smiled and said, "Well well, a Ranger who turned his back on the Haven." |

A female voice behind spoke and Phantom paused for a moment. He could sense that she had a weapon and it was pointing towards him. Phantom chuckled to himself and kicked up a dagger that was lying on the ground. It flew backwards and struck the girl's hand, causing her to drop her weapon. Phantom jumped backwards and brought his blade to the girl's neck. Smiling, he said, "They were threatening my life. I'm sure you would've done the same thing" |

"I wouldn't kill all of them," Selena said, even though she knew the man had a point. Her bow was lying a few feet away but it was too far to reach. If she moved, then her throat would be slit by the man's sword. Besides, her hand was hurting too much and she doubt she could aim straight. "So what is your purpose here?" she asked the Ranger. |

"My purpose here is of no concern to you," Phantom replied coldly. "But if you are wondering, I am on a mission to find a secret location." He then turned around and began picking stuff back up again. When he was done, he said, "I must go now. Have a nice day." With that, he mounted his horse and rode off. (Sorry for the ultra short post. Can't really think up anything to write. XD) |
