Evil Storm

An ancient evil plagues the land, killing and destroying all that stands in their path of conquest and glory. It has been nearly 2,500 years since the world was at peace, but that peace is fading. The Necropolis has returned to full strength, and the protectors, the Haven is falling. The seven artifacts of power has not yet been found, but with each minutes the dark side is growing more powerful.

Now all that stands in their way is you. You have the power to turn the tide of the war. Now you have a decision.

Will you fight for justice or for power?

Jakrah walked down the causeway leading away from the temple. It was the evening and his patrol duty has just ended. He was thankful for it, patrolling here was boring. This would be the last place the Necropolis would think of attacking, but the Haven still maintains a steady military force here. Jakrah knew those soldiers must be bored of patrolling here as well, they all want some real action.

As he walked down, he noticed that a large group of pilgrims had arrived and was walking towards the temple. Isn't it a bit late for praying? Jakrah thought to himself, but he payed the pilgrims no attention. The causeway from the temple in the center of the lake to the shore is quite long and it took awhile for Jakrah to arrive at the shore.

The sun was already setting and the distant horizon grew read. It was beautiful and it was hard to imagine that in a time like this there could still be such beauty. Jakrah found a large piece of rock and sat down to enjoy the view.

So far the infiltration mission was going as planned. William has mixed in with a crowd of other pilgrims from Kiro and the guards didn't suspect him. He was here to see exactly how much troops the Haven had stationed here so his superiors can plan their next move. However Will was tired and so he decided that they would do his information gathering and spying work tomorrow.

As he was about to enter the main temple complex, which is built on a island in the middle of the lake, Will suddenly spotted a tall elf sitting on a rock, staring at the sky. Maybe I should change my plans, he thought to himself. Smiling, he walked over to the elf and waited for him to start a conversation.

However the elf didn't realize Will was there, so Will said, "A beautiful evening don't you think?"

"Yes very beautiful," Jakrah said. "Unfortunately, our world isn't like this." He turned around and looked at the man who was speaking. He looked at the man who just spoke and saw a hooded man standing there. He looked suspicious, but everyone looked suspicious to Jakrah. After all, he was a Ranger and being suspicious was his job. He also sensed a strong magical aura on this man and he guessed that the man was probably a mage. If the guards thought he was fine, then he is probably fine.

"I'm not a Necropolis," Will lied quickly. He can't expose himself and the elf was getting suspicious of him. "I noticed that there are quite a bit of security around here. Not easy to get in is it?"

"Yes, I don't understand what they are trying to do, but in the last month, they moved almost three thousand troops from Azurath lands to here," Jakrah said. He was unaware of the situation and was glad to find a person that actually notices the same things as he does. "Its not like this temple would be attacked for anything."

"Indeed," Will said, nodding. This was even better than he expected. The elf was giving out a lot of valuable information. He just needed to play it cool and see what else he can get out of him. "I noticed the checkpoints have gone up as well. There was ten checkpoints from Kantha to here. A year ago, there was only two."

"Yeah well desperate times calls for desperate matters," Jakrah said simply. The sun was almost out of sight by now and Jakrah knew it was useless to sit here any longer. He got up and and said, "Well if you a pilgrim, aren't you going to pray before the temple closes?"

"Its getting late, I should rest a bit," Will said, "I'll come back and pray tomorrow." He pretended to do a stretch and began walking towards the small village built to accommodate pilgrims. He received some valuable information from the Ranger, but his task was not yet complete. Tomorrow he probably have to do more research and spying.

Jakrah nodded and walked away. However he still felt a bit suspicious about this man. Perhaps he should investigate further. Jakrah took out his mirror and said, "To the Lord High Guardian of Cloud Lake. I have reasons to believe that a pilgrim might be trying to access our information. I have provided him with false info. and I request permission to investigate."

"Permission granted," said a lazy voice. Smiling, Jakrah put away his mirror and began making his way towards the barracks. If he was going to trail someone, then he is going to need his weapons.
