Link from Project Hyde Character Information: Character's Full Name: Tetroneaque Swiftpaw Tailchaser Age: 223 Gender: Male Faction: Mage Clan Race: Kitsune-bito [Fox-folk] Physical Description: Tetroneaque is a bit on the small side, standing at only five feet tall. He prefers to stay in his bipedal form when at all possible. He has emerald green eyes that give off a faint light. His ears are bit bigger than most other Kitsune, giving him a slightly comical look. He is covered in a dark purple fur except for a few locations where his fur is a pure white color. His muzzle area, chest/belly area, hands, feet, tips of ears, and tips of his tails are the white areas. He happens to be old enough that he has three tails now and he takes great pride in them, keeping them well groomed at all times. In bipedal form he does tend to wear clothes. He usually wears a long loose robe with the hood pulled up, along with soft leather gloves and boots, all of which match in color. He also wears a smiling white fox-mask with red accents on it. He also wears two items of jewelry. A ring with a ruby fox leaping at two golden birds and a silver fox-head amulet with a large amethyst in its forehead. He carries a few other items as well, but these are usually kept hidden in his many pockets. Personality Description: Tetroneaque seems to be content to work as a spy, theif, and assassin for the Mage's clan. He is quite adept at his work and has always completed his missions, often without anyone even catching a glimpse of him. He is a bit of a coward though, preferring to strike from the shadows when he must fight yet preferring to avoid conflict all together. So far his goals seem to match those of the Mage Clan, but he does have his own agenda. In reality he is constantly researching a way to achieve his ultimate goal. He wants his race to obtain supremacy over the entire world, sick of other races using his kind and all the constant fighting caused by the other races. What better way to do this than by destroying all other races in one magical swoop? He has heard rumors of a series of artifacts that would allow him to achieve this goal, so he has stayed with the one faction who is most likely to learn more about these great magical relics. He isn't really evil, he just tends to take things to extremes. Maybe someone will help him learn the error of his way of thinking...or maybe not. Character History: Tetroneaque has lived an interesting life so far. He used to be quite content living with his clan, simply doing whatever was needed to help out his clan. Scouting, spying, stealing from rival clans. It was all a part of his daily routine. Anything to protect his clan and family. One day while he was out scouting his village was attacked by humans. He came back at sunset to find nothing but death and ruin. Alone he buried what was left of his loved ones and swore to one day make sure such an atrocity would never again befall his kind. He traveled the land in disguise, simply doing what he could to get by. He learned to become quite self sufficient over the years. However since he's always been rather runty he never really learned to fight well head on. Instead he uses trickery, deceit, and various potions and poisons to get things done. Thievery became his main source of income, and he was absolutely astounding at it. He began to make quite a name for himself among various criminal organizations as "The Phantom Fox" thanks to the calling card he would always leave at the scenes of his thefts: a small metal disk with a smiling fox face engraved on one side and three fox tails on the reverse. His criminal connections led to him becoming an assassin as well, again he would leave his calling card at the scene as well. Yet, he didn't want to always be a mere thief and assassin. Using all his skills he eventually found someone connected to the Mage Clan and offered his services exclusively to them. Impressed by his remarkable skills in subterfuge and reconnaissance they were more than happy to take him up on his offer. He has loyally worked for them ever since, learning advanced magic from their vast library. While reading, he came across a particularly interesting tidbit. A rather old tome described a set of powerful magical items that when used together would have the power to make their owner's dream a reality. Tetroneaque wants to find these items and use them to wipe out every race besides the Kitsunes. Over the years he's seen so much conflict started by the other races that he thinks they aren't worth saving, and only by being wiped out will his own kind have the peace they deserve. He has managed to keep his plans hidden so far, and for all intents and purposes appears a loyal and trusted servant of the Mage Clan. Skills, Powers, and Abilities: Besides the normal abilities of his kind, such as being able to see in the dark, change into a full fox form, and increased hearing and smell, Tetroneaque has a couple other tricks to help him out. First is his potion/poison making skills. Over the years he has had to rely on himself when out in the world, he came to know the uses of the various herbs and plants of the world and came to know which could be useful and which were deadly. He commonly uses natural items to create a variety of potions and poisons which have a vast amount of uses. Oils slicks, smoke screens, and various powders that can stun opponents or render them unconscious are his favored ones though he does know ways to make use of them to heal and treat minor to moderate injuries and sicknesses. Since joining the Mage Clan and gaining access to their library he has taken a vast interest in learning about magics. He has found that he holds a bit of affinity toward Dark magic, though he calls it shadow magic since he only uses (or can use for that matter) the parts of it that deal with shadows. He can render himself invisible as long as he in totally immersed in a shadow and uses to this great effect when spying. Another highly useful trick in his shadow magic arsenal is his shadow step spell, which allows him to use shadows like doorways to other shadows. In this way he can step into one shadow and step out of another on the other side of a building. There is a range limit to his shadow step and it does tend to take a bit out of him, especially if he uses it in rapid succession. He prefers to avoid using his magic if he can avoid it, tending to save it as his trump card so to speak. Character Equipment: Tetroneaque carries a great many potions and poisons secreted about his robe. Each is held in a small glass vial with a small cork in the top. These items were made by Tetroneaque himself from various plants and other natural items. He carries a great variety of these on him at all times, never knowing what a situation might call for. Next he also carries a magic amulet shaped like a fox's head which holds a large amethyst in it's forehead. This items was given to him by the Mage Clan to assist in making reports when he is far away. The amulet serves as a sort of magical communication device, allowing him to speak with whomever holds its twin back at the Mage Clan's lair. Lastly he keeps a long slender dagger with him for self defense. This blade was made by his clan before they were destroyed and was a gift to him on the day he grew his second tail. He has had the blade for over one hundred years now and its as sharp as the day it was made. It is of remarkable craftsmanship and never seems to dull or become worn. Other than its magnificent durability and sharpness it is merely a normal blade for all intents and purposes. Likes: Eating, sleeping, exploring, learning new things. Dislikes: Everyone who isn't a Kitsune. Nosy people. Bad smells. High pitched noises. Dogs. Habits: He tends to chuckle at inappropriate times. He also whistles alot or hums little songs to himself. Strengths: Quick, agile, hard to catch and very stealthy. Is very deadly as long as his target is unaware he's there. Weaknesses: not very physically strong. Not good in a stand up fight or against more than one opponent at a time. So far his magic has no real offensive use. Other: Tetroneaque is actually a rather accomplished chef as well. He loves to learn new recipes and try them out. However he is a bit embarrassed by this passion and keeps it a secret. If someone were to become a really close friend he might be convinced to eventually cook them a meal. About half of the small vials in his robe at any time are usually rare spices or seasonings he's acquired for his cooking rather than real potions or poisons.
