The wind howled like a great mighty beast, across the Northern Reaches this day. It bellowed past an imposing individual as he disembarked from the ship that was now frozen in place. A towering giant of a man strode into the wastes of the frozen north, giving little heed for the rapidly dropping temperatures. Lord Akaron had come to the frozen hell hole of the planet searching for something, but he knew not what. Looking around he felt drawn to head deeper into the blizzard, almost as if he was being summoned by something. Trudging forward through the waist deep snow, Akaron thought back to when he told his Lord of his leaving. *He stood their before the Arch Wraith sitting upon a stone chair, armor still bloodied and scratched from the sacking of the elven kingdom awaiting to address his commander. He didn’t wait to long before the arch wraith bid him to speak.* "My Lord Sendokaze, since the sacking of the elven kingdom of An-Havva has gone well and it will take you some time to gather more forces and sort through all the booty and plunder, I shall be taking a leave of absence. I know not where Ill go or how long ill be, but I fell that I must...travel. Something is calling me my lord and I know not what. But there is no need for me here currently, you have my competent commanders, they will train new troops. I shall leave at first light, you may contact me with magic if you need to, but please don’t disturb my journey unless it is important my lord." *Turning upon his heal after saluting the dread thing upon its throne, he left with out as much as a goodbye.* It had been a tiresome few weeks or travel in all manner of environments and through all manner of transport. Until his quest brought him here to the frozen wasteland of the Northern Reaches. Continuing forward, Akaron trudged onward, his metal interlocking plate collecting ice and snow as he forced a path through the snow. To an onlooker, he would seem as an unstoppable juggernaut forcing its way toward an unknown goal. From beneath his close faced helm, Akaron stared off into the storm, almost as if he could vaguely see what was drawing him to this desolate landscape. *I pity anyone who might have to venture out into this storm save I, but then, what sane being would willing travel here.* |

On one side of the Ronom glacier was a ship froxen in place and a huge giant of a man disembarking. He was just thinking what sane person would come out here. Little did he know that there was currently soembody else near him thinking the same thing. Viclo was trudging through the snow muttering to himself. He was decked out in the warmest coats he could find, yet he was still freezing. "Thats the last time I volunteer for a job." He muttered, while trying to walk."Oh, scouts report seeing a ship, hey why don't I go investigate it, commander. Yeah, I can do this, I am a panther, how cold can it be." Viclo stopped under tree. "How cold can it be? It's freezing here." And in frustration, he punched the tree, which cause huge amounts of snow to fall and cover him in a pile. Oh forget this stupid human shape. He thought. There was movement in the pile, but instead of a human coming out, a panther leaped out. A black Panther with a solitary gold stripe down his back. Ah! Much Warmer. Viclo thought. Why didn't I think of this before. Tjhe panther shook off some excess snow and continued on it's way. It crested a ridge dotted with trees, and stopped under one of them. Well, will you look at that. The scouts were correct, there is a ship. When the man staerted forward, viclo jumped up into the trees and hid himself, because the man seeemed to be heading directly up the hill and straight for the trees. Viclo would have to follow him and see what was happeneing. It was good Viclo was a master of sneaking and stealth, because the man looked like he could withstand a full front attack, so Viclo would have to be cunning. The chill and bite of the wind were bitter for any normal soul out here in the desolate frigid wasteland of the north. The temperature during the day was barley over twenty degrees with out adding in the wind chill. But Akaron trudged onward, giving little heed to the forces of nature. He could walk for hours like this before having to stop and rest, but the cold of the night might drive him into seeking shelter. As he continued to force his path through the snow, Akaron crested a hill with a smattering of trees. Ducking slightly, he stopped underneath on of the modest sized dead trees, letting the branches block some of the snow. Dusting most of the snow that had collected on his armor off, Akaron inspected the interlocking plate for the one hundredth time since the sacking of An-Havva. The scratches were still there from Jakrah's Mythril blade, a constant reminder that even average fighters could be dangerous with the right weapon. Shaking the long cloak that hung from his shoulder plates, it revealed a banner of sorts. Akaron had had this all purpose heave cloak woven to show his current unity with Hellron's forces. The coat of arms for the Akaron House was imprinted upon the cloak with Hellrons superimposed over it, creating a unique gestalt of the two. The deep crimson material and grey fur trim made the nice warm cloak also look fancy. An on looker might think this Akaron for some sort of noble or king from the quality of his gear and cloak. Looking around, Akaron could barely tell where he was, much less 50 feet. Sighing to himself, Akaron dusted some of the snow off of his armor before preparing to set out into the storm once more. But he noticed something there in the snow, animal tracks, a large cat by the shape of them. *I can hardly believe an animal of this size could survive out here. We the good new is that there must be something out here to eat then. If all else fails I could just track this thing down and cook it.* Akaron thought to himself. Looking back out to into the storm, the feeling came over him again. It was like a pull, a silent calling that urged him onward into the harsh unforgiving wilderness. Adjusting the large war mace at his side he stepped out into the blizzard once more. Snapping off a dead limb to use for kindling later he ducked his head and faced the frigid wind once more. The unstoppable iron clad man continued forcing a path through the snow to his unknown destination. |

As the big man crested the hill, Viclo realized he didn't get rid of his tracks. Viclo figured, though, the man would not really take notice of animal tracks. Viclo had to follow the man, but it had to be done quietly, and the man could not know what was happening. As the man trudged off, Viclo dropped down and burrowed into the snow, so he would be covered. He waited till the man was just barely out of sight and then moved low with the snow. He stayed back at the edges of visibility, to minimize the chances of discovery. Viclo decided to play with the man's mind. Crouching low, he transformed his hands back to human and threw a snowball at the man. He crouched back down when the man turned around to look, and then afterward he continued following him. He did this for a little while more. Then he started to do more stuff. He started to howl and groan, trying to creep out the man. After a couple more minutes of this, Viclo decided too do something different. Viclo decided to try something he had tried only once before. He closed the distance quietly, and then transformed half into a human, mainly the top half. He stood up on his panther legs and balanced himself. Then he went running past the man, screaming. He kept running until he was out of sight and near a tree. He took a huge leap towards the tree, and grabbed the branch and pulled himself up. There he transformed back into a panther and hid in the tree. If the man came by the tracks and the tree, it would look like the creature had just disappeared into thin air. Viclo smiled to himself, and curled up to wait. |

Deep into the Northern Reaches, inside a glowing cave, a figure woke up from a deep slumber. The figure is completely blue, his arms, body, and legs connected to the ground and walls by ice that is glowing deep blue. He used to be human and once had a name, but now his body is completely covered, his face the only reminder of his human past. He had no mouth, no ears, no nose, only two red slits that are his eyes. The only way he can taste, hear, and smell is because of the ice. He isn't just an ice figure, he IS the ice. Why have you woken me?the figure asked the ice around him. The ice was silent, but the figure understood. Trespassers. There were people here. Unwelcome people. And they must pay for their crime. Silently the figure sent a message down one of the long ice rods that connected his body. Moments later, the ice around him began showing the trespassers. One was a tall, large human, covered entirely in armor. The other was a panther. The figure knew that this panther isn't a normal panther. A Cenurian is here. Drive them away my love. Kill them, the figure said to the ice. The ice understood. Miles from where the figure is, giant white creatures emerged from the snow, making their way to where the human and the Cenurian is. |

Akaron was most displeased with the current state of affairs. It wasn’t bad enough that it was cold, but the wind was picking up as well, sending the temperature down a few more degrees. Not that it really mattered at these temperatures, any long term exposure would cause damage to the poor soul trapped in this wintry hell hole. It hadn’t been more than a few minutes from when Akaron left the tree line and was now lost in the field of white that something struck his armor from behind. Whipping around, Akaron readied himself in a battle stance, but there was nothing there. Inspecting his being he only saw snow, no tears or cuts, just more snow. Puzzled, Akaron continued on, believe that a large deposit of snow from his helm had fallen and stuck his shoulder. But after a couple of minutes, he felt it again and again there was nothing but snow. Looking out into the white haze that shortened visibility to a mere fifty feet, Akaron scanned the area. But not matter how hard he looked; he could never see anything, just the ever constant screen of white. But always the pulling, the calling, drove him deeper into the storm, looking for something he knew not what. But he continued onward. Finally it seemed that the constant pelting he kept feeling stopped, but this was soon replaced with howls and groans, sounds that did not belong out here in this white field. Looking around, Akaron was prepared to fight and defend himself from what ever was making these noises. But nothing came, no great beast, no horrid undead, nothing. Cursing himself for letting strange noises bother him, Akaron turn back to the direction that the calling came from. He knew that the wind could make strange sounds and that being on edge tended to make you believe that these noises were more than just that, noises. With time this two passed. *Finally, thought Akaron, my mind has been playing tricks on me all day.* Walking forward as he always did, Akaron felt at peace here in the frozen waste, but that was shattered again by something not as unseen as the other oddities this day. A man, dressed in furs ran past him screaming at the top of his lungs. But this wasn’t any normal man, while his upper body was that of a man, his lower body was that of a large cat of some sort. Akaron called for the strange being to halt but it kept running until it disappeared from sight. This was the last straw, Akaron had had enough, he was going to follow this creature and discover what it was. Moving over to the tracks it had left in the snow Akaron followed them. Thinking to himself Akaron was curious if this being was responsible for the tracks he had seen earlier. If so then perhaps it could be a guide if it wasn’t too hostile. But he wasn’t about to get his hopes up. The tracks went a short distance before stopping dead. Looking around it seemed that the creature that he had seen had simply vanished into thin air. But then Akaron noticed the tree not to far away from where the tracks ended. Looking at the tree and the area around it, Akaron noticed that there were piles of snow n the ground of unusual height and shape, almost as it they were caused by falling snow from the branches due to something shaking them. Dropping into a defensive stance, Akaron spoke with a loud clear voice that could be heard over the howling with. "Show yourself creature, or I shall come and get you. Believe me, you do not want me to do that, it would be most unpleasant. Now, come down from that tree or by the pits of hell I will bring the tree down with you in it!" Standing his ground Akaron would give the creature a chance to come down before it came down with the tree. |

Viclo waited in the tree for the huge man to come, and he was rewarded a few minutes later. Then he realized the man wasn't that stupid and could connect the ndots. The man called for him to come down, or else the tree was coming down. Viclo had to think quickly on what to do. He had to lie to this man, he couldn't know Viclo was a Haven Ranger, because htis man was probably a necro. Viclo jsut had to soemthing. Viclo dropped out of the tree in Panther form and walked to the man. Than the Panther seemed to grow upright while the hair retreated back into the panther and formed coats, claws retreated back into the paws and formed hands. The face transformed into a human face. All except for the golden eyes. The now human Viclo walked to the man. "Hello." He simply said. "I have to apologize for earliuer, but you are encroaching on my territory." This was the story Viclo was going with. "I am an outcast Kitsune, kicked for a horrendous crime, which I was framed for. This is where I am living now, where no one can find me. I thought maybe you were sent to find and kill me. there are some who would want to. Why are you here." Viclo hoped the story would pass as truth, and sat back and waited for a answer. |

The figure watched from his lair as the snowmen made their way across the frozen wasteland to the intruders. He smiled silently to himself as they thought about the two's fate. They can either be turned into snowmen, or they can be added to the figure's collection of bodies, all preserved underneath the ice. The collection sounded better, as he needed to add more trophies. The snowmen slowly made their way across the ice, careful not to make any noise. These people were once men, however their fates were sealed when they froze to death. The figure took their bodies and fused them with snow, creating these ferocious snow warriors. As long as the temperature stayed cool, they would have no trouble fighting. Armed with ice swords, as well as the ability to turn the snow on their bodies into ice armor, these snowmen were are very good warriors. Kill them. Leave none of them alive, the figure commanded them. The snowmen obeyed silently. The first one leaped out of the snow and charged towards the giant armored man, with others following close behind. The game has begun. |

Akaron watched as a large black cat with a golden stripe down its back dropped out of the tree, its body shifting quickly into that of a mans. The man was of an average height covered in thick robes. The being could have almost have passed for a human except for one thing, its golden eyes. The creature spoke, it apologized for its behavior but that it was just trying to defend its territory. It claimed to be an exhaled Kitsune, that he had been framed for a crime he did not commit. This creature also told him that the feared that he might have been sent here to kill him. Akaron listened quietly while the creature spoke, contemplating what to do next. He had heard stories of the Cenurian's, the half animal beings of the world, but had never met one in person. As a rule his dukedom had not associated with them due to their strange mindsets and ways. It also didn’t help to have people walking around that could transform into an animal and murder someone then walk away with out ever paying for the crime. The man called himself a Kitsune, but something didn’t ring clear about that. Akaron had barely studied about these creatures; there was no way to know if the creature’s stories were true. But he did remember one thing from his studies, and that was that Kitsune's were fox folk not cat folk. Akaron scowled underneath his helm, this person was obviously trying to lie to him. About what, Akaron couldn’t fathom, but he would let it play for now. Switching to a relaxed stance, Akaron spoke to the creature. "While that all might be well and good sir, I have no time for these games. Something draws me, calls me to push farther into this hellish wasteland that you call home. Before I continue my journey I would ask you for information. What can you tell me about what lies ahead in that direction?" Akaron motioned towards where the pull seemed to emanate from. If this person was actually telling the truth, he would at least get something beneficial out of conversing with this creature. Suddenly, a large white being charged out of the snow toward Akaron. Reacting with his years of trained combat reflexes, Akaron caught the creatures arm as it tried to bring a sword down on top of his head. To Akaron's surprise the creature trying to kill him was a snowman. The snowman was a horrific creature, vaguely resembling a man in its features. It stood at around seven feet tall, as tall as Akaron him self almost, a cruel grimace upon its face. The sword it wielded was a blade unlike any Akaron had ever seen, it was made of pure ice. The snowman was strong in addition to its other aspects, but not as strong as Akaron who easily held its arm in place after the impact had pushed him down into the snow about one foot. Shifting his weight, Akaron pulled his fist back for a punch. But as he did this he saw another strange thing about this creature, its snow body was hardening into ice. It seemed that these creatures also had a decent ability to defend themselves as well. But their defenses would not be enough against the pure physical might that Akaron could bring the fry. Punching with all his might, Akaron hit the snowman. The creature screamed an unearthly scream as Akaron’s punch smashed into it. The force of his blow shattered the creature into multiple ice fragments, returning the creature to the snow it was once part of. Parts of the being still resembled frozen human limbs, but others merely deformed into snow piles. Looking up from the remains of his fallen opponent, Akaron saw many more of these creatures charging towards him and the Cenurian. Thinking quickly of how to handle the situation, Akaron spoke. "If you know of a place for us to withdraw to speak. I can only fight so many opponents at once. Beyond that, the hour grows late and with it the temperature falls. Fighting will waste my energy and strength; we will need shelter and a place to hide from these creatures if we are to survive the night. Now move!" Akaron's tone was serious and his voice firm. They would have to work together if they wanted to survive in this frozen wasteland. With that, Akaron turned and took a defensive stance between himself and the Cenurian. He was not about to give up with out a fight. |

Viclo saw the man relax, which seemed to mean he bought it, or at least deemed him not a threat. Then the man asked him some questions, asking about something that pulled him here. Viclo knew nothing, but figured that was the point of the man being here. Before he had the chance to answer, a creature charged them. It looked like a huge snow amn, but it's skin seemed to be hardening in to ice. The man before Viclo caught the sword hand of the creature and punched it to smithereens. Whoever this man was, he was strong. Viclo had to stay on his good side. Then Viclo noticed more of the creatures charging them. He had a feeling the two of them were going to have to work together. The man turned to him and asked for any shelter, as they couldn't fight off everybody. "Follow me!" Viclo yelled and started off. They would have to move fast, to get far enough away from the creatures. They ran off towards a cave Viclo had come across earlier. Once inside Viclo took out a amulet that he borrowed from the Haven storerooms. once activated it would form what looked and felt like a real boulder covering the entrance. It made the cave extremely dark, so he also pulled out a haven Firestarter. It was a contained magical fire, enough to give heat and light for the two of them. Viclo stared at the man for a couple minutes, trying to decide what to do. He decided to tell almost the whole truth. "Sit down." Viclo motioned toward the fire and sat down oposite him. "Listen, I was lying before. I am here, for the same reason you are here, I think. I am from haven, and we having been monitoring some weird energy readings here. I drew the short stick and was sent to investigate. It seems we will have to work together and whoever you ally to, it doesn't matter. We are here now, outside of anybodys boundaries, so a momentary truce to get out of here, and see what those things are seems like a good idea." Viclo waited for the man to respond.
